I guess that's why the MK closes so early on those days... big disappointment for those vacationing at WDW that week

What a shame to be there in the warmer months only to have the park close early. We will be there 4/18 - 4/27. Now I am wondering if for these grad nights they have lots of students staying onsite. We are at the PC and am now wonderig if a lot will be there?

Has anyone had any experience with the Grad nights? Do lots of kids stay onsite?

Grad-Nights have been going on since 1961 at Disneyland. They always take place this time of year, but you will notice little effect. The students are generally bused in from the surrounding communities, and do not stay on-site.
The MK will be open until at least 7 pm, which is traditionally when the park closes on weekdays in the spring. In fact, this year the MK will be open later than usual on non-Grad nights, 9 pm on some nights. If you want to avoid the MK on the early nights, there's always Epcot and MGM Studios, which are open every night until at least 9 pm.

The biggest change is that Spectromagic will probably not be shown that Saturday night. In the past, it has been shown on Thursday nights instead. I believe it is also being shown on Tuesdays. Saturdays are supposed to be so hectic at MK anyway - you're probably better off having Spectro shown on a different night.

The April hours are already posted on the Disney website. Of course, they are subject to change.

I noticed that Wished is not scheduled for Grad Nites. Is this historically how Grad Nites are, no fireworks? I was hoping to catch Wishes from Ohana one of these nights.

On the April schedule, MK closes at 7:00pm on Grad Nights. It doesn't get dark that time of year until around 8:30 so they will not show Wishes.

I'm going to be there April 21 to 25 and noticed MK is open until 9:30 on April 21 (Wednesday) with Spectro at 8:30 & Wishes at 9:30. For some reason, MK is closing at 6:30 on April 22 (Thursday). The first Grad Night is Friday April 23.
