2003 Holiday Information

Here is a run-down on the Holiday Festivities and the similar happening at Universal:

IOA:
Grinchmas (Now-Jan 4)

-Meet the Grinch daily starting at 9:15
-Mt Crumpit Snow Plummet: 60 foot ice slide
-Whoville Whobilation show
Nov 29-Dec 1 & Dec 25-31: 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30 (tree lighting)
Nov 21-28, Dec 2-24 & Jan 1-4: 12:00, 2:00, 4:30 and 5:30 (tree lighting)
-Meet the Whoville cast at 1pm and 3pm
-Mat Hoffman's Stunt show (Dec 26-Jan 4): see map insert
-Fireworks (Dec 26-30) at 9:50 pm

USF:
Macy's Holiday Parade (Dec 12-Jan 4)
-Parade starts around 5pm at Twister. If you went to Mardi Gras or saw the Macy's parade last year, it follows the same route.
-Ballons will be on display at the front of the park and in the boneyard
-Santa Meet & Greet at Secondhand Rose (Nov 28-Dec 24) from 10:30-5:30
-USF Holiday shows (Nov 28-Jan 4)
Blues Brothers-they will have a Christmas show and will have a snowfall at the end of each show
Ghostbusters Christmas (will Beetlejuice wear a santa hat, hmm )
Startoons Holiday Show
-Fireworks (Dec 26-30) at 9:55pm.

Citywalk:
Christmas in the City (Nov 28-Dec 27)
-Carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides, shows, nightly snowfall and more.

FL/GA resident special:
-FL & GA residents can get a 2-day 2-park pass for $69.95 + tax with a coupon from specially marked 12-packs of any Coca-Cola product at participating Publix locations. Tix are valid any two days from Nov 21-Jan 4 EXCEPT Dec 24-Jan 1 (blackout dates).

CORRECTION: Extreme Ghostbusters Holiday Show starts November 28, not 29. Heard it from a couple GBs, themselves.

Can't believe I missed it by a day!!! The pain! The torture! How long I have pondered on what it would be like! Guess I'll have to wait 6 more days...ahh! can I survive? LOL J/k

PS - to answer your question about BJ...my guess is yes, after seeing pictures from last year's show. I also saw that the GBs wore headbands with "reindeer antlers" Guess we'll see if it's the same this year.

We're big DIS fans that have never done US/IOA (until this year - no Disney).
I noticed that Matt Hoffman's stunt show is listed Dec. 26 to Jan.4. Do you know where in the parks we can see this, my DS 12 is a big fan. We were going to skip Grinchmas, as we arrive on Jan. 4th, but may try to make it to the park if he can see Matt.

Mat Hoffman will not actually be in the show. He has a video intro, so I heard. And it will be the the Toon Ampitheater.

I cant' find anything on the story reading, though...

Does the Grinchmas show still have the acapella group as a preshow? I think I'll watch all the shows for the cute brunette. Ack, I'm pulling a FlyFly! I'm going to have to carry around a neon seat cushion.

I would like to see the Dark Marauder dance around and singing Outkast's "Hey Now" on the GB stage.

We went to Ghostbusters yesterday! We squatted in Flyfly's spot. At the end of the double yellow lines in the middle of the road? When the GBs arrived the shorter one with the NY Yankees cap came down directly in front of us and was looking around. You could tell that he was looking for Flyfly and was disappointed. BJ does wear a Santa hat but with black trim. The GB's Christmas songs included the Alvin and the Chipmunks' "Hurry Christmas" that was a definite crowd pleaser.

If you want a picture with Santa you can go to the old "Second Hand Rose" store near the exit to old Kong. No queue and they take one that is available in about 30 seconds.
