2002 Points....

Member services hasn't sent out point listings for 2002 for the regular WDW resorts (or DCL, for that matter). Any ideas when that normally gets out?

I don't think the cash rates (thru CRO) have been released yet so, until they are, there is no point chart available.

I think they usually release this information in the summer and we'll get the update sometime afterwards. Stay Tuned!

You can make a pretty educated guess at what the points might be by looking at some prior year charts. They're all very similar year to year, changing in accordance with the holidays, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

For example, if you look at only the WDW resorts and compare 2000 to 2001, you'll find they're practically identical:

January is Adventure
Feb 1-15 is Dream
Feb 16 - Apr 30 is Magic except the 2-weeks at Easter
May 1 - Jun 10 is Dream
Jun 11-Aug 15 is Magic
The Rest of August is Dream
Sep is Adventure
Oct 1 - Nov 30 is Choice except the 3 days at Thanksgiving
Dec 1-14 is Adventure and the remainder of Dec is Choice or Premier depending on the Christmas dates.

we travel to WDW in Jan/Feb this always creates a problem using cash or points.

We never know what we are paying till much after we book.

For next year we reserved 4 days AKL
4 day Wonder
6 days BWV

the only one they could actually tell us the point cost now is BWV. The others we will have to wait till they come out.

i was told that resort points "should" be available june 1, as that is 7 months prior to the new year and that's when we can make our reservations. i am waiting for the same thing, but i agree with the above people that if you look at the points this year, you have a good estimate. the only thing i saw that was different is that easter is earlier next year, which is great for us because we go in late april for our anniversary.

Actually, point reservations at non-DVC resorts may be made 11 months in advance. Currently, we just don't know exactly what the points needed will be for those resorts. As suggested above, use last years point chart as a reasonable estimate. There is usually little change.
