Periodically I check to see if the new points have been released. Have I missed them somewhere? At one time, I thought it was mentioned that they were due to be released in February. Can you book before the points are announced? Has anyone done that? How was the experience?

We booked the cruise for March 2002 at the end of April without the 2002 points being posted. About 2 weeks ago Member services called with the new points. The new points aren't posted anywhere yet.:jester:

On April 30, 2001, the 2002 chart was finally released to Member Services. As far as I know, you can only get the point values by calling Member Services. When last I looked, they hadn't released a chart on the DVC Member Web site (nor have I received a chart in the mail).

I booked a 2002 DCL cruise with points on the day after Member Services received the chart. It will be our first Disney Cruise. For category 6 in Regular Season, the old 2001 chart showed 203 points for adults and 78 points for children (ages 3-17). The new 2002 chart requires 211 points for adults and 78 points for children (ages 3-12). That makes a double increase: Adult point requirements have gone up, and the definition of a child has changed. I didn't check any other seasons or categories.

We e-mailed member services and asked the same question as we are planning a 2002 cruise using points. They responded and said that if we e-mailed them what dates we were planning on cruising, which cruise we are planning on going on, how many adults, how many children, what stateroom category we are interested in, that they would be happy to let us know the points needed.
