20% tipping question

Okay, I need to get this straight.......

I know that the industry standard for a limo/towncar driver tip is 20%.

But, is that 20% of the total amount, then you divide that in half and give that amount on each leg ?

For example: Our Limo cost is 180.00
A 20% tip would be 36.00

So, if we give 20.00 on each leg, is that acceptable?

Yes, that sounds right-you never know if you will have the same driver for the trip back (also make sure the tip isn't already included on your bill when you get it).
