Called my target this morning and they think it should work. But they didn't have any coupons to try. I will go in an hour (when my husband wakes up- I cannot leave the infant alone) and see what happens and report back.

Has anyone gone this morning and tried?

Yes, and as the Packers aren't on today I would be willing to take a drive. I live in Sheboygan. Were you just able to get it w/o an overide? If so, I will try here in town first otherwise drive down.:) Also, did you notice if you had a lot of cards left? Here there were only 3-4 on a peg by the registers on Friday.

I stood in line at 8am, and there were plenty of cards. They had to manually override it, and had no problems doing so. I bought the $50 cards, 28 of them.

The bar code rung up as not valid, so they manually typed in coupon values of $100, $100, $80. Tell them store manager Candace said you could.

Can you please post a picture of your receipt. It will help do many others who are not nearby. Thanks!!

Please, please, remove this gal's name, she is obviously not thinking straight to offer this! Posting her name and store location is a great way to get her swamped with people demanding the same thing and then fired. really.

Did not work in Alabama! Also would not let me get more than $1000 on the red card. They said it was the policy :sad1::sad1:

I don't believe that is correct. I called the RedCard line before I purchased $2500 in Disney gift cards to ask if they could put a note in my account so the fraud department would know it was a legit purchase. I was told any limits put on my account would be by my bank, not Red Card. I called my bank to let them know. I had no problems with the $2500.

They told me the opposite:confused3 They said it was not the bank. I had asked my bank Friday and they said as long as the money was there there was no limit! The lady at target said I could get more in a few days:confused3

It did work for me with a manager override. She said technically it should have been included in the 20% as it is an entertainment card and misleading. They are also having issues with game consoles as the wording was vague.

Anyone in Rhode Island get the manager's to approve it yet? I'm not going until later in the week (after payday *lol*) but wanted to know if I would have to have them call guest services when I do.

I hate to say it, but if she IS doing something this wrong, maybe she should get fired. Because if she was not sure, she should have found out if it was ok, before doing an override that large.

I will ask at my local store about it, when I go to use my coupon, I am too busy to shop for the next few days. If it is allowed, fine, I will buy a bunch, if not, I will not. :rolleyes1 Policy may be adjusted by then, one way or another.

Well somebody just ruined Candace's life ;)

I swear, some posters on this board are nuts.
Thinking somebody should be FIRED over this? That's so harsh. Target is a multi-million (maybe billion?) dollar company. If it's a mistake, they'll take the hit.
I'm pretty sure this falls under "life's not fair" a lot of the time. The discount is going to work for some, not others. That's the reality of it.

I particularly love the "picture or it didn't happen" mentality.

Sheesh.
