I just reserved for our fall trip...20 nights!!! We will be there for Homeschool day, Y.E.S. classes, F&W, MNSSHP, Halloween at the Fort, and if I timed it right, the first MVMCP!!! Woot, woot, let the countdown begin!! :woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo:

Maybe I will do a little PTR. Of course, I need to get back to writing (AND FINISHING) the TR from last visit. I'll get there....Planning a new trip is good for revisiting an older one. :surfweb:

Can't wait to get back to the Fort!!!!

20 nights?

I hope you forget what day it is about day 5 or 6.

Enjoy your stay. I'm envious. :goodvibes

I thought I was lucky with 12. But we leave for vacation on July 12th for a family reunion, head down to the keys and then FW. 38 days total, stop home for two nights then camp at the beach, a state park near home for 5 nights. Can't wait. :woohoo:

Well, then call me CRAZY, because unless someone gives me a camper between now and then, we will be back in the trusty ole tent! We made it 12 nights and through the great Orlando Monsoon of October 2011, so I think we can make it 20 nights. Here's hopin'! :thumbsup2

Can't have to much Mickey time.

Exactly!!!! :yay:

haha awesome, your still not crazy though and im suppper jealous, have fun and cant wait for this trip report

Have a great trip. We camp this week at FW for 10 nights - love going for the F&G show, plus 1-2 other times a year. Having said that, we are ready to come home after 10 nights, could never stay 20 there, even though we love it very much. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone! I know 20 days is a long time in a tent, and things could change: I could get a pop-up, or maybe do part of it at FW and then rent points and do the last few days somewhere else, but honestly, I thought I may as well book for the dates I am most concerned with because even only two trips to FW and I have learned it is far easier to take away days than add them to our FW reservations. :thumbsup2

I'm going camping on the GA coast on Sunday for a whole week...that will seem short compared to the FW trips! LOL :) (And yep, I am back in a tent....I will have to reshare our tent set up pics. We ain't hurtin'. ;) )

We tent camp too. A few years back, I booked us for 19 nights at Ft Wilderness because I have Summers off and we had Annual Passes that year. As the trip got closer, I started to panic when I thought about actually staying in a tent all that time. So, every 7 days I booked a night at the Lodge so we could "recover" a little from our great adventure. (It turned out to be the best idea I ever had). We really appeciated the comfort of our Hotel room and it was fun to use a different pool for 2 days each visit as well.

Another helpful hint for a longer stay in a tent: Get the largest tent you can. We had a 10 person tent for 3 people plus a large screen room. I also brought alot of "extras" for the long stay (ex. blow-up furniture, mini-frig, pool toys, etc.) And we rented bikes from a local company.

We had loads of fun, but I was never so ready to go home as I was that year! Enjoy planning; and have a great trip.

I've never been able to afford 20 nights, but that really sounds awesome! We just picked up a 1983 RV to fix up for our next trip and we should be there the same time you are. It will be myself and my six homeschooled kids PLUS my neighbor and her two. We want to do the MNSSHP (we do it almost every year), the primate program for homeschoolers, halloween at the fort, then maybe if I can stretch it a MVMCP, which I have never been able to attend. Maybe we'll see you there, who knows you might need shelter in a monsoon - we nearly drowned tent camping last year so my husband refused to do it again :scared1: Happy Camping!

20 nights in a tent at the fort > 20 days in my office working. I am DIS green with envy. Have a great trip.
