I noticed that on disney website it says that you need to arrive 20 minutes prior to your adr. Was it always 20 minutes? That seems a bit excessive.
I seem to remember 10 minutes. But we haven't been there in 2 years. Who wants to sit and wait 20 minutes when you could be enjoying something else.

I don't go 20 minutes prior. 10 is enough for me too. I went 20 minutes prior to Boma last year and they seated walkups before me...at breakfast. They still made me wait till my time came around. That was our first day and I didn't go 20 minutes early after that. :goodvibes

Now that I think of it I don't think they even said that when I made my original ones on the phone. The website definitely says it though.
IMO I think it's a bad idea to have families sitting there with kids for all that time waiting to be seated. Especially when there's no guarantee you'll be let in at your adr time anyway.

I show up 15-20 mins prior...there isn't all that much you can be doing in 15 mins.Plus you MAY get seated early( you may not , but I usually have been)

We usually get there right on time, or maybe 5 minutes prior.

I wonder if they say that knowing people run late coming and going in the parks (especially if they misjudge travel times). I'm sure they'd rather have people waiting to be seated than to have no-shows at the adr time.

I'm not sure- but I think you'd be okay arriving 10 minutes early.

used to be 10 minutes, and they'd tell you to allow up to one hour for transportation to the restaurant...

when I booked for September, the CM told me to check in 15 minutes prior and allow one & 1/2 hours for transportation. When I called back a few days later to change one, that CM told me the same thing.

Guess they're just wanting to err on the side of caution...we've checked in as early as 20 minutes ahead (because we got there early & were hungry) to checking in just on time...didn't seem to make any difference on when we got seated...always been 5-15 minutes after checking in.

DH and I always show up 30 min early and more times then not we get seated early. :thumbsup2

We usually go for right on time and never have more than a 10 min wait. So far we have been lucky!

I made our ADRs yesterday and the CM said we should be there 10 minutes early.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We were told 20 minutes early last year. Sometimes we would show up early and sometimes we would get in early and other times we didn't. Who knows?!
