I am sad to say that one of the things that was left behind at home was our Maclaren Techno Stroller. We only use it at WDW and then only at night. After 4 years it still steers well and my DD still fits comfortably.
We are here at WDW for 10 days, so renting was very expensive. So, we went to Toys-R-Us to buy a stroller. Our DD is 6 years old, 45" tall and 48 pounds. We first picked up a Baby Trend Trendsport Lite ($39) since it was rated to 45 pounds and we thought 3 pounds wasn't a big deal. The stroller steered like a cow and my DD's knees were up near her chin because the foot rest was so high. We then thought about a Maclaren Volo ($99), rated at 55 pounds. It steered better, but the foot rest was still pretty high. Plus, if I bought the Mac I felt like I would have to sell it on eBay to get some of my $$ back from buying an un-needed stroller. Finally, we tried the Kolcraft ($19.99) because it was there and "what the hey?". It steered almost as well as the Mac and my DD's knees were not uncomfortably high. It also had a sunshade. Sold!
We gave it a test run at Epoct last night and everything went well. Do I think it will last past the 10 days? Nope. But I don't need it to last either. I'll come back to this thread later on and give an update. But for now, I would say ... go with the Kolcraft for an older or heavier child. You'll be fine.
