20 Free Aeroplan Points

Can I just ask how one transfers points without the high fees?

We flew AC last year (our family of 5)..we each have 4000 points but I want to combine them into one account so I can buy a theme park ticket.

I've looked everywhere! :confused3

There is really no cost effective way to do this.

Yeah...that's what I thought. Pretty crappy we're going to lose those points. They expire mid April :guilty:

Have you looked at the Aeroplan website to see what else you could use your points for? I know you can exchange miles for gifts cards and other things.

Also, if you flew only last year all you need to do is have one transaction per account within the year to keep them active. Points don't expire until 7 years after they were earned.

From the Aeroplan website:
How can I make sure my Aeroplan miles do not expire?

When you stay active in Aeroplan, you make sure that your Aeroplan Miles don’t expire. All it takes is one transaction every 12 months to keep your account active, and you have a full 7 years from the time you accumulate the miles to redeem them for a reward. There are so many easy ways to stay active:
Earn Aeroplan Miles with any type of Aeroplan Partner - you have over 100 airline, financial, hotel, car rental, telecommunication, and retail and services partners to explore.
Redeem your Aeroplan Miles for more rewards than ever from our Aeroplan Partners.
Donate your Aeroplan Miles to one of our Beyond Miles charities.

Thanks so much ;) We don't have enough to redeem for anything we have 5 accounts with 4000 points in each.

I did see that you can earn points through Esso. Guess I'll order the cards (I only have the numbers...not the physical cards) and buy some gas from Esso so I won't lose the points! :rotfl:

It is rather frustrating though. I don't know when/if we'll fly AC again. And especially not being able to transfer our DD's into one account given their ages.

Keep in mind that children's miles don't expire until they are 19. They don't need any activity to keep their accounts active. Getting Esso gas is a great way to keep yours active though. You never know when you might want to start building up the miles. You can also shop online through Aeroplan e store and earn miles that way. In the fall Old Navy had a 5X aeroplan miles promo running on the site. I have also bought chapters/indigo gift cards through the estore chapters site and got 2x the miles.

Also keep in mind that if you fly on any other Star Alliance airlines (Continental, United, etc) you can give them your Aeroplan # to earn miles.

Good Luck.
