$20 for non character breakfast, is BOG really worth it?

I am still torn. Is it really ok to order an orange juice AND help yourself to tea or coffee or soda at the self service station? I love both at breakfast but I don't want to take anything that isn't mine...

I'm wondering the same thing. Do two drinks come with the meal or taking a second one that is not included? I'm not here to judge what anyone else does. I just want to know for myself.

1) To us, $20 for a bowl of cereal is ludicrous.
2) Whether OOP or DDP, it is a HUGE waste of money.
3) But, Disney relies on the P.T. Barnum theory, is it is busy there.

Cereal at BOG is $11.99, which would include cereal with milk, fruit, a drink and the pastry tray. Still steep, no doubt, but it's not simply"$20 for a bowl of cereal" (which I agree would be ludicrous)...plus you're in the middle of a theme park, eating in a castle, potentially before the park opens. Not defending Disney's prices, but it's no more outpriced than any other meal experience at WDW. If you're there weekly (or even several times a year), it's not a likely repeat choice, but for folks who go once in a lifetime or even just once every few years, it's a whole different scenario.

It is only supposed to be one "drink" per Guest.:)

There are cups and soft drinks are self serve. I understand coffee is the same. So, if you order something that comes in a bottle, you may also get a soft drink or coffee, and take the bottle out with you.

Very feasible.:)

Be at MK by 7:30 AM-they will let you in around 7:45 AM.

We were finished eating by 8:30 AM and they opened SDMT to BOG Guests around 8:35 AM-we got 3 rides in on SDMT before the Maingate line arrived.:)
Ah! This makes me so happy! I definitely feel like the price of the breakfast is worth it to me since my ADR is as 8:05, even if I am paying OOP (our first time not on the dining plan)...just for the pre-opening benefits.

Don't forget $20 includes pastry plate, entree and drinks so pricing is in line with lunch if you think of it as a two course meal. Also you can get two beverages (juice & coffee for example) if you want for the same price.
Can you order 2 if you preorder? I would love soda and juice.

You order what is on bottle (juice) and you go at the self service station on place to take your soda.

Thanks for the PT Barnum insult! I think it is worth trying once. I will not be ordering cereal, will get juice, and entree with fresh fruit, and a tray of pastries. (and possibly coffee, it seems) One pastry runs $4-$5 other places, coffee is over $2, so not too bad altogether.

The Wave is $21.99 for a buffet, so maybe that's what they're referring to?

Ahhhh. Didn't know they had a buffet! I learned something new today!

Same here! I looked it up!

We tried it last month for breakfast and not only was it a decent price (For Disney), the food was pretty good as well. In fact we liked it enough we walked up on our departure date before Magical Express picked us up and had breakfast again. :thumbsup2

I think that no matter the cost, you have to decide what you are paying for, and then determine if that whole "package" is worth the cost. We generally get the DDP because we really do not like to look at prices. They tend to play a part in how I order food, no matter where I am, so knowing that I can order any item and it will already be paid for is better for me, and therefore better for my family LOL!

In the case of BOG, most folks are going to be able to experience the Castle or to gain early entance into the park. To me, that early entrance is a value, and when you factor that into how much the items would cost if purchased individually, I think the price is about right.

I do think that this meal is not for everyone, and RustyScupper is one of those people. He has the opportunity to visit the parks more often than many of us, so for his family, this would probably be a waste of time and money. There are several dining experiences that my family will not plan again, but that we do not regret having done one time. For my family, BOG breakfast is worth the cost and time this trip because we love early entry, into MK at least one time a rip, and we really are not fans of CP breakfast, so this suits us just fine. Quiet walk down Main Street, decent enough food for breakfast as well as giving my two littles a chance to explore the beast's Castle, and tehn perhaps an early start in one le or another.

If you get in early at 7:45 for reservations, are the memory maker photographers ready on main street? Can I get a good photo in before breakfast in front of the castle?

Yes they are out there and ready for you. You will get some great photos but Main Street is not as empty as it use to be. With the different tours, Crystal Palace and now BOG, there are whole lot more people in earlier than before. But with that said, the MM photos will be nice.

Wow! Would have never guessed the photographers would be out before RD. That is great! I assumed we'd have to take our own photos.

What time was your reservation? We have an 8:45 and wondering if I can get in the park at 7:45? Are you able to get in BOG an earlier than your reservation time?
