20 dollars for parking now...? Come on now...

I don't think it will effect attendence. I just think it is a crappy money making ploy that's all. Just like the changes to ap ( I am not even an ap holder)

I singly don't like the pull the rug out tactics and the upping prices "just because"

If they had some improvements it wouldn't sting as bad. Take hs for example...3 dollars more parking...but they have closed a 4th of the park. And that absolute pain all of their websites are. I would be happy if all the money for parking went to a decent user interface ;)

I'm just annoyed that is all. They have every right to do...people will still go...

Im still waiting to see all of the outrage here about their parking prices increasing $3 overnight.

"Here" is a WDW related thread in a WDW forum. I don't go to Universal. They can charge whatever they like for parking as far as I'm concerned.

If they do start charging to park at Disney Springs, I hope that they will then start providing transportation from there to the parks and back again. I get why they don't do that now, since they don't want people parking there for free and just riding to one of the parks. If they are going to charge for parking, though, then they can add buses that will take you directly to Disney Springs rather than making you go to a resort first and then transfer buses. That'd be pretty nice.
I think Disney just fixed this problem, first of all they will never start charging to park at Disney Springs, its basically a mall now, they're not going to discourage people from coming due to charging for parking, they already got a huge parking garage and another one on the way, there's going to be enough parking 95% of the time.As far as people parking at Disney Springs and going to the parks,I believe a large majority of those who did that were pass holders who didn't get free parking like the seasonal, with the new APs that were announced over the weekend all pass holders will be getting free parking, the price of the passes went up but I think Disney just wants to avoid having to worry about people parking at Disney Springs and going to the parks, the extra $3 to park for day guests and the rise in pass prices will offset the pass holders who had to pay for parking in the past.If you're a day guest paying $100 for a day at the park and want to spend an hour or two parking at Disney Springs to avoid the parking fee you're just silly, its not worth the time or hassle.Pasholders who went frequently may do that and it won't be a big deal but now that they all get free parking Disney just fixed the problem.

We have two local theme parks. One was a Six Flags, but isn't now. It's $8 to park. The other is Holiday World where parking is free as well as all sodas. Ticket prices are about half what Disney charges too. I love Disnay World, but the greed is about to the point where I'll take my business elsewhere.

I don't think either of those places are on the same level as WDW. Jmho.

$20 is very reasonable for parking even without comparing it to Six Flags or concerts or sports stadiums. When staying offsite I don't mind paying to park in Disney's clean and well maintained lots with good tram service.

Nobody likes a sudden price increase, but I'm sure most people, especially those staying on site, would object to higher theme park prices so that off site guests could receive "free" parking.

I know it's fun to rant and rave about Disney doing this and that but I think that's a bit too much do you really need to raise that? Yor park prices are high, your food is through the roof and now this?

I saw another thread mentioning it's too much overall but for some reason this ticked me...

Oh well I guess I gotta accept the fact that things will just continuously go up..

We stayed onsite at Universal Studios last month and had to pay $12/day to park at our HOTEL. Just be glad that Disney doesn't charge you to park at the hotel (and that if you stay at a resort on Disney's property, you don't have to pay to park at the Parks, which I think you do at Universal).

I paid $45 to park a mile away from a U2 concert.....

I paid $160 for 2 tickets, plus $20 for parking to see Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA; $150 for 2 tickets plus $20 for parking to see Beauty & the Beast; and $180.00 plus $20 for parking to see Disney on Ice. All of these shows were under 2 hours, and snacks & drinks were over-priced.

Disney park tickets are around $100.00 per person, parking is $20.00 (IF you stay off property) ... but you can spend the entire day at the parks, park hop (for extra cost); see live shows which, in my opinion, are just as good as the shows I mention above; see beautiful parades, spectacular "best in the world" fireworks displays, you can go on really cool rides, meet and greet some of your favorite characters, and most importantly spend quality time with your family and friends.

Totally worth it to me...

I really don't believe in charging to park ANYWHERE in the world, as I don't know how they expect people to visit or attend if they can't park, but that's another matter. Disney has great means of travel on property, so it's not a big deal to me.

Honestly, it doesn't seem that out of range for parking compared to what's around us. Sesame Place is $17 for regular parking, $20 for preferred and now VIP is $30 (which is what we normally would choose). I paid $15 just to park at a hotel last week. City parking is easily $30 or more for the day. I even pay $8 when I take our kids to the doctor at the local children's hospital and that's for a 1-2 hour appointment. Now if they were charging $40-50 I'd think that was outrageous, but $20 still seems pretty reasonable in the grand scheme of things.

I went to a Miami Dolphins game years ago and the parking was $20 then. I remember thinking before that $20 wouldn't be bad for parking at WDW, still didn't expect this much increase at once. But this is not that big of a deal though

$20 parking to watch the Dolphins play?!?!?! Now that's a rip off!!!

But seriously, I live in Miami, $20.00 for parking is standard.

I do not see a problem with this. If you stay on-site it's free and even a number of offsite resorts/hotels include some sort of shuttle, or at the very least a reduced cost. No reason for Disney for them not to raise the prices.

Most non-Disney places charge the same or more anyway for parking.

The onsite Disney hotels in Disneyland charge for parking! Not only is a room around $500 a night at the Grand Californian, you also have to pay $17 for self parking, which is across the street at another hotel, or $25 a night for valet!!!

And I also don't think that smaller local theme parks are in the same category as WDW or even Disneyland!

Almost anywhere you go now a days you pay for parking. Raider games cost $40 and concerts at our local arena are $25.
