Hi there! We, dh, dd8, ds2 and myself ~ will be enjoying a wonderful WDW vacation in 20 days! We had a great time planning this trip together, each picking fun things to do and see. We can't wait (can you sense the excitement LOL?) As much fun as it was to plan everything together, I would like to surprise them with little *extras* We have 6 PS for character meals so I can't really surprise them with one more ~ however dd really loves Donald's Breakfastosaurus, so I think I might surprise her with that (been there, done that, but a nice surprise is a nice surprise). dh is thinking about parasailing, so I thought about setting time aside so he can go off and do that, while the kids and I picnic on the beach and watch Dad do his Zazu impression. We bought the kids each a little gift per day *from Mickey Mouse* so when we get back to the room, they get a surprise a day. What else can I do? dd loves getting wake up calls from Mickey each morning, that's a nice surprise. WHAT ELSE? Thanks in advance! You all have such great ideas! Sandra

Sandra C,
I tried to find lot of little Disney items before we went and brought them out at odd times as smile boosters. I found a mickey mouse tooth brush, pooh and friends tub color changers, disney fruit snacks and juice boxes etc. I also took DS's favorite snacks that I never buy at home (that squirt cheese for one) The best thing we did was that DH and I tried hard not to say no unless we had too. So what if he had a beaver tail for dinner and ice cream for lunch once in a while. We leave shopping to the last day so that was not a big issue.Even then he did't ask for much. We buggeted for the little stuff like the light toys and mickey ears so we could indulge a little. If he wanted to ride something two or three times, OK. I think that made the trip more special than anything.Have fun!!!

Our first time to go as a young family, my husband's boss sent our two children $100 each in cash. We have pictures of them jumping on the bed all happy. Then he surprised us with paying our Dixie Landings room. A great boss.
You could have an egg hunt with Disney dollars inside!

I like that toothbrush idea! My kids have Disney toothbrushes at home, but I could get new ones and pack them away for them! Great idea!

Boss paid for resort! YIPPY! That would be a great one. I have many bosses (I work at several fitness clubs ~ I am a fitness and yoga instructor) Maybe I could get them together to pay for my stay! LOL! The best I get is free club membership and lots of music store gift certs as incentives! LOL!

I will be shopping today ~ I'll look around for cool Disney stuff! Thanks! Sandra

Sandra C - I've been reading many of your posts. I'm right behind your planning ... we will be there in 33 more days! I can't wait either. I've been trying to do the same thing for my family!

One thing I did for dd was got the free Cinderella doll from DS (got a postcard in the mail and had to spend fifty dollars). I plan on giving it to her when we go the CRT breakfast and telling her it is from Cinderella! I may wrap it up and give it to her the morning we go w/ an invitation from Cindy to come to her castle. I just need an idea for DS on the same subject! Anyway, this could work w/ any of the characters and meals. If your daughter likes Cinderella, there is a precious rag-doll type Cinderella at my DS. It is so cute. Perfect to carry around!

I also have a BIG Mickey and Minnie that I plan on setting out for our last morning. I thought it would be a good way to say goodbye! Thought I would include a letter to the kids from Mic/Min telling the kids how much fun it was to have them come play, etc!

I've got the Wonderland Tea party scheduled.

We also plan on trying to fit in some of the resorts free activities. I've read several posts that have info on these activities.

I read somewhere on the board that if you are at a CM have your child give the character a paper w/ your child's name and address and sometimes they will send an autographed picture. I thought that was neat!

I buy character T-shirts as I find them on sale at the DS. I thought that would be a nice surprise for the kids when they get dressed in the mornings. We also bought matching Tees for the family. I couldn't believe my DH actually went along w/the idea! We got them at the DS for around $4/shirt. We'll definitely need a family snapshot that day!

I'll have to think about what else I've got packed away! LOL! I have bags hidden all over my house! No telling what I will forget! I hope you and your family have MAGICAL time! Let us know how it is when you get back!

Love your ideas! Our kids got an invitation to WDW this summer (wink wink) from Mickey Mouse! Have you done Cindy's before? This will be our 3rd Cindy's breakky! The family gets a real kick about eating in the castle. This started out as my fav thing to do, now it's down my list but at the top of dh and dd's list! Chat soon! S
