When I was on the phone yesterday with Disney about when we can starting making our dining reservations for our Sept 4-11 reservation, the very nice CM was looking up the information and asked me if I new that there was a pin for free dining on our account. When I told her that we couldn't use both the 20/30/40 discount and the free dining discount at the same time she said we could. She said that if we change it to a package she can give us the discounted rate and the free dining.

Does anyone know if we do make these changes and it's on the confirmation will we have an issue at check in?

Whoa! I would think that if you had confirmation there wouldn't be a problem at check in. I've never heard of anyone being able to stack discounts before. Lucky you! If it were me though, I'd be paranoid about it and double check with another CM.

I didn't do anything on it because I was worried that I would somehow lose my 40% off. I'm thinking of calling and seeing if this is true and if so, booking it. I will make sure to the the CM's name and to ask to speak with a supervisor and get that person's name as well.

Good idea...and GOOD LUCK! :thumbsup2 Let us all know how it turns out, ok?

I'm on hold waiting for a CM to answer. I will let you know what they say. I'm torn between booking it and then worrying over the next 6 months :scared: that there will be an issue at check-in and not booking it and just taking what I have now.

Good Luck! I hope it works out for you. Can't wait to hear what happens.

:wave2: Couldn't find the popcorn munching icon. That's exactly what I'm doing while waiting for you, MagicKingdom05. I hope that CM knew of which he/she spoke!!!

I still don't think this sounds right, but here is what I was just told.

I called and got Sarah in reservations. I told her that we were thinking about adding deluxe dining to our reservation and wanted some basic information on it. She looked up my reservation and information, came back and asked if I knew that I had a discount code for free dining. I played dumb said no I didn't and she said would you like for me to price it our for you. I said sure. She said the rate would be 2174.08 minus the new $200 deposit. This would come out to $224.44 a night for standard gardenview room at the Contemporary, which is what we had before and $301.50 pp for park tickets and would include free deluxe dining. I questioned this amount 2 or 3 times and she even had me talk with her supervisor, who insisted that this was the correct amount.

You are paying $224 a night at the Contemporary and that includes free dining?

Are you kidding me?

I think everyone on this board wants to give you a great big :grouphug:! You are a winner!

I still don't think it's correct and still aren't sure about booking it. The 224.44 is a 30% off discounted rate and adding the free disney deluxe dining would be a 2nd discount which isn't suppose to be allowed. I guess it's Disney and they can do what they want to so maybe this is legit. I called my wife and she said what are you waiting for book it before it's too late.

So you got both discounts???

That is what they told me I could have the $224.44 rate and free deluxe dining. I am really not sure about booking this. I feel I'm just asking for trouble during check-in.

Whoa its free DELUXE dining? Thats awesome lol. When you spoke to the supervisor did they understand that that would be two codes? If so than I would book. I would also document everything that was told to me.

What if you don't book it and it did turn out legit?

You had a supervisor tell you that it was legit. If they book a confirmed reservation for you, with 30% and free deluxe dining, and you have that confirmation in your hot little hand at check in, I think you would be good.

Granted, this does sound unbelieveably too good to be true. It does sound totally wrong that they will double stack discounts, but they say they are! Don't you want to book it on the chance that they know what they are talking about? Will you ever get such a deal again?

I would encourage you to reallllllllly think this over before you dismiss their offer as wrong!

I know what you mean about the double staking of the discounts. I’m going to book this and just see what happens at check in. I will have a confirmation with everything on there. I just have a feeling when I do try and book it the computer will catch the double discount and won’t let the booking get changed. I will let you all know what happens.

The old adage proves very true.. "If it seems too good.." Disney has had two policies for as long as I"ve been on these boards..

1. You can't stack discounts. You may qualify for 5 discounts but pick ONE and choose wisely.

2. Free dining reservations are ALWAYS at rack rate.

It doesn't matter what you were told, it doesn't matter if you recorded the call.. Disney can and does correct these errors and how on earth they managed to get that into the system when you can only enter one discount code per reservation is way beyond my head. (Anyone who scored an online reservation for a studio at BWV for 75$ a night a few years back can attest to this correction policy)

Historically speaking - free dining reservations are ALWAYS at rack rate..

Book it if you wish - but do realize that all reservations and such are subject to change (ie: correction) and this one just screams that it would be corrected. That language is right in the terms and conditions on all reservations... especially where packages are concerned.

Sounds to me like they have some newbies fresh out of training on the reservations desk there today.

:confused3
