I realize that at buffets my 2 yr. old can eat for free, but can I assume at other TS restaurants I have to order a child's meal for him? Years ago at the castle, my then-2-yr. old dd was served pancakes and bacon or something like that, and it was complimentary. I don't suppose that happens at other TS restaurants? I wouldn't mind just feeding him from my plate, but our tastes are quite different. Any suggestions?

Buffets were the only place where we could get our kids something to eat without paying for it. All non-buffets would charge the price of the kids meal if we wanted something else for the kids to eat.

Yes as far as i am aware if you go to a TS restaurant you will have to pay for your child if you want to order for them.

We took our nearly 3 year old last year and all the character meals we booked were free for him but everywhere else we paid.

I wouldnt see a problem with you be able to give your child some of your food though. My son didnt eat very much at that age so there was a lot of waste.

So far my very soon to be 2 year old eats just about anything I eat, because it's from mommy. I hope this Novemebr she'll continue this course of action. I truly believe she will. She'll be eating from us at table service. We have a party of 6. So, she can have a little from each of us.

They can eat free at all buffets, all-you-can-eat family-style, and pre-plated restaurants, which includes CRT, Storybook, LTT, Ohana's, HDDR etc...and all buffets like Chef Mickey's, CP etc....

If you eat in a regular TS (or CS) restaurant with a menu, then you must pay for what you order for the toddler....this is true for everyone whether they are on the dining plan or not. Doesn't matter.

Be sure that you state you will be paying out of pocket for the childs meal if you order one....When we were at CR (which was 2 TS credits at the time) there was confusion on this and the waiter charged us 2 credits for some chicken nuggets for my 18 mo old! We had it straightened out later, but it was a pain.

My4kids, thanks for the tip! I had already thought of that possibility, so hopefully I will remember when the time comes.

My 2 year old daughter got a fruit and veggie app and a bowl of buttered noodles at CRT. She was quite happy with that, but ended up being quite the greasy princess at the end of the meal. ;)

my son was not yet 2 in dec when we went and we are going again next month
he ate free at all the buffets and shared food with the rest of us for all TS
With all the food we get it made no sense to order him his own food
