I have a question for anyone who has already done this upgrade.

I bought my AP for 149.99 from the website a couple of months ago but have not activated it yet. I have the coupon from BK to upgrade to the 2 year pass. Has anyone already done this? Do I just go to the gate and then to process it inside the park to get the 2 year pass or must I do it beforehand? Anyone with any experience with this?

Thanks!

My girlfriend tried this just a week ago. The people at the park refused, saying that the passes weren't purchased within "the correct time frame". I bought them from US' site for $169.95 each.

When she got back and told me, I contacted the season pass office and I was told that as long as they weren't activitated it did not matter. You will probably have to pay the price difference from what you paid for them and what US sells the undiscounted passes for. Take the 800 number for pass holders with you and if they give you any bull, call them and have them speak to each other.

I'm currently trying to get US to correct their mistake, but so far I haven't been real lucky. The only thing they've done so far is to note in the computer system that the pass holder was supposed to get the 2-for-1 deal.

Did you arrange to have your APs be e-tickets? If you did, all you have to do is purchase the 2-for-1 AP passes, and save the confirmation code. Then write to customer.support@tickets.universalstudios.com.

Tell them to cancel your old confirmation number from your old APs and keep the confirmation number for the 2-for-1 deal. They will credit your card for your initial purchase and re-charge you for the new passes.

This is what I did. If you arranged to have the tickets sent to you, I don't think it's as easy to upgrade.

Good luck.

I had the annual passes delivered via UPS back in February. They were activated at the park July 18. That's when she was told that the 2-for-1 deal did not apply because the tickets were bought back in February.

I wrote to the email address that was posted and was given a 1-800 number to call. I called that number and the guy that I talked to said that all I would have to do is pay the difference between the 149 that I paid and the 169 that is needed and that I would be all set. I am going to bring that number with me if I have any problems, but he gave me the impression that I would not have a problem.
