My daughter will be a week from being three when we go on our next trip in May. I've never taken a child under three and I'm wondering if we need to bring her birth certificate? She is big for her age but still looks like a baby in the face and stuff (like her cousin is four months older and smaller but to me still looks a year older). She has baby hair I guess makes the difference.

Either way, she will be "free" at Disney which is why we planned the trip so close to her birthday I'm just nervous about getting looks or comments about her age. She is right under 40" so will probably be able to do stuff like splash mtn, big thunder etc. I assume she is allowed? Also we will be doing lots of character buffets where she will "eat off my plate". I just wonder if we will be questioned frequently and should we bring a birth certificate.

I wouldn't bother bringing a birth certificate. And she can do any ride as long as shes tall enough for it and accompanied

No need for a birth certificate. Both of my boys were big for their age, and we took trips just prior to each of their third birthdays. No problem at all.

Nothing is necessary to prove she is under 3.
They generally take your word for it.
My niece was 40" at less than 2-1/2yrs old.
Had zero issues at all.

Just check your bill at buffets. If they put a charge on for her, politely inform them she is under three and they will remove the charge.

I was questioned once with my youngest who is a giant. I did laugh when the cast member asked me as she was not yet 2. But he didn't question me further when I said so. She is currently 4 and 46 inches, wearing the clothes her sister wore in 1st grade.

Our gs was a giant before 3 yes we were asked where his FP was or where his Magic band we just politly said he is 2 His sister is 10 Wears an adult size 12 clothes and a 9 1/2 ladies shoe. Her parents stand at 5'10 and 6"4

I just returned with my 2 years 10 month old son who is 39.5 inches tall and looks more like a 4 year old. I was never questioned about his age. He rode 7DMT and absolutely loved it! He even wore his magic band most of the time and we were never questioned as to why he wasn't scanning it. We did 3 buffet/family style meals with technically 2 "infants" (DS and 11 month old DD) and I was never questioned at any of the restaurants about his age.

They never questioned my son when he was there the day OF his third birthday.

No one at Disney World will question your child's age. Leave the birth certificate at home and enjoy your vacation.

This is good to know! I'll be going next week and my niece will be turning 3 during the trip. If you ask her how old she is, she'll often hold up two fingers and say 4. But she'll also say she's 3 too (she also says her dad is 4). Glad it won't be an issue since we won't have a way to prove she really is 2.

We took a trip right before DS turned 3 so he was still free to enter the park and at the restaurants. We didn't have any issues with rides but we did have the hostess at Garden Grill in Epcot give us a hard time. I made a reservation for 6 adults and 2 kids under 3 (my dd was 1 at the time) and she asked "you are 6 adults and 2 infants?" and I said "two kids under 3, yes". She looked at my kids raised her eyebrow and said "2 infants?". I again repeated, "they are both under 3". she rolled her eyes and told us to follow her to our table. It was pretty rude. but that is the only time we were questioned during a whole week of eating TS meals.

In case you don't know, that is 1,000,000% NORMAL for that age, and the CMs know it. :) My nearly 3 year old liked to say he was 9 sometimes. Normal normal normal and age-appropriate.

My DS (now 14) has always been big for his age. When he was 9 we were travelling with a cousin and family whose son was 10, but much smaller. The only time we had an issue was at 'Ohana when the waiter kept trying to bill our family for four adults instead of three adults and one child, and put the child on the other family's bill. He basically refused, even though it made no difference whatsoever to the overall bill and the other family confirmed. I had to ask whether or not I had to go back to the room to get his passport before he would switch the bill! LOL

We have never had an issue but we have been asked AND have had the kids be asked. Also had a toddler answer 15 to the age inquiry. It would take little time or effort to snap a picture of the birth certificate though you really won't have any trouble.
