Ok, So I am trying to figure out what to do here and I don't have long to figure it out..

We want to include a trip to universal in our trip. Pref a two day one so we can have one day in universal and one day to do Harry Potter world.

We are staying in Holiday Inn within the walt disney world resort so about a $30 each way trip

1. Do I try and find tickets that include transport -
2. Stay in a hotel locally overnight then we're within walking distance
3. Pay for taxis each day there and back - so $120
4. Travel there early and try and do both parks in one day - only $60

What would you do?

tickets + transport ... doubtful
you might as well choose a hotel nearby that offers free shuttle to USF/IoA

Staying on I-Drive, you can get the trolley, and then it's a 10+ minutes walk from the wet and wild stop to USF/IoA
But most I-Drive hotels have shuttle service.

3. Pay for taxis each day there and back - so $120

it probably comes cheaper booking a hotel on I-Drive and doing the trolley/walk or the hotel shuttle
you still need to transfer from Holiday Inn to the I-Drive hotel

4. Travel there early and try and do both parks in one day - only $60

If you're a Harry Potter fan, I doubt you'll be happy with doing both parks in one day. WWoHP gets crowded and will consume most of your time.

Also note that 2 parks tickets are more expensive than 1 park tickets. So you may end up paying those $60 anyway, but for one day only. I'd rather add $60 and have one more day at the park.

Book a night at one of the three Universal hotels, get free express passes for everyone for two whole days not just one, unlimited use not just one use, an hour early entry for both days

I'm a big HP fan and we've booked HRH for a night, we'll be getting to WWOHP an hour before everyone else, might even do that twice!

mears do a shuttle to Universal from most of the LBV hotels and its approx $19 return journey. Email your hotel and make sure they pick up from there but pretty sure they do. Or jump on the Lynx 50 bus to Seaworld and ask for a trf then pick up the 8 to wet n wild and walk across the bridge to Universal. Personally if you don't want to stay in another hotel etc then I'd go for the Mears shuttle. You just call them the day before to arrange a pickup time If you get an early pick up so you get to IOA for opening time then you should be able to do both parks in one day, abeit a long day!
