I would be on family overload if I spent two weeks with them at a value. Go for the deluxe!

Were you thinking of the Garden Wing at CR? That would be the cheaper option, with 6 kids if I'm reading right you'll still need 2 rooms there.

There are cheaper deluxe options at WL or AKL.

I like the idea of maybe looking at a moderate as a happy medium, you could stay longer then 10 days at a deluxe.

I'd buy length of stay park tickets, there's not much of a cost difference between a 8, 9 or 10 day park ticket.
Possibly consider APs if you're going for 10+ days. You'll get a discount for merchandise, some restaurants, and possibly an AP room discount, depending on your dates.

While I am a big fan of the value resorts -- 2 weeks is a looooong time...I love Disney...love, love, love Disney...but I think 2 weeks would be a bit much. We typically stay values but those trips are 8 nights max. For our trip this coming July, we are staying 11 days, so DH was insistent on a deluxe...so we could have more space, amenities, etc...because by the end of a 8 night stay at the values, we are typically ready to go!!! :lmao:

While I would gleefully stay two weeks (hell, I'd stay a month) ANYWHERE on Disney property -even the values- I think I'd rather be at the CR.. IF you're staying in the tower.

I totally don't want to come off as a snob, but my thought process is as follows:

If I'm going to put out THAT much money, and not even get to be in the tower, it's a waste. I feel that way about the GF too. I'll probably never get to stay there, because I'll never be able to afford it. But if I ever did, it'd be in the main building in either case.

It bothers me to put out so much money and just come thisclose to staying IN THE MAIN BUILDING. It's like you're there, but not quite.

So I'd stay at either place, ten days (let alone two weeks) is more than I've ever been able to stay, so any scenario would be a treat.

However as the CR has always been a dream of mine, deluxe gets my vote.

For the record, though, I'd still take the values over not going. I don't mind the values.

Definitely 10 days deluxe. But I would do a split stay and spend five nights at CR and 5 nights at BC. Splitting between an MK and an EPCOT resort equals the very best of both worlds!!

Definitely deluxe. There is no way that I (we) could stay in a value again. We spent one night there about 4 years ago and that was enough. I suppose if that were the ONLY way we could stay on property, we would have to do it, but it would be a last resort (no pun intended!) for sure. The theming (ASMo) was cute for the kids, but take that away and you were in no better than a Motel 6 for over $100/night. (My opinion only.)

I would do deluxe. Last year we did 10 days at a value not happening again. We are just outgrowing the room. By day 5 thus past trip I told dh we are going back to a moderate.

It sort of depends.
If you are always in the parks, then value.
If you like to spend time in the resort, then deluxe might be better.

10 or 14 days - either sounds AWESOME!! You are lucky to be able to spend that much time there.

With that amount of time, you will want to spend time at your resort. A mod or deluxe (I prefer deluxe) will suit your needs much better.

Also with the age of kids you are pretty much guaranteed that you will need downtime at your resort. You won't regret the deluxe amenities.

Thanks for all of the opinions. We have done 10 park days the past 2 trips and still thought that wasn't enough, so I am little concerned about having just 8 day tix (discounted tix that we could not upgrade). On the other hand, being on the monorail would be soooo much easier for us. We have done 6 days at a value, and think that we could handle 2 weeks.

A mod would not be an option because it would actually cost more, since we would rent DVC points and get discounted tix if going deluxe. If we did a value, we'd go directly though Disney for everything. We could do a mod with a discount and then get our discounted tix, be we would not be able to have the DDP, which we want (which is also why we are not doing a value with a discount and getting discounted tix). I have always wanted to stay at CSR though!

For 2 weeks I would try and do a split stay. We have enjoyed all our stays from value through deluxes, so you won't here us say we will never stay at a value or we cannot stay anywhere but a deluxe:)
