We are headed to Disney next year, planned for 10/22-10/29. Worried the crowds will be crazy for Halloween week. Would the 15-22 be better or just as busy because of Columbus Day on 10/10? What would you do? Traveling with 9 people - 6 adults & 3 kids. Thanks!

We were there for Halloween weekend this year (thurs-mon) with a 4.5 and almost 1 year old, and I didn't think it was crowded at all. Granted we got to the parks every day before they opened and usually left early afternoon. The Halloween party we attended was nuts but it sounded like most of them were this year. Other than that, I thought it was a perfect time to be there and would definitely do it again.

We were there Halloween week this year, which was also during Food & Wine, and crowds really weren't bad at all. We just checked crowd calendars and planned our park days accordingly and avoided the Magic Kingdom on party nights. Weather was beautiful and we really never waited much more than 20 minutes for anything.

I'm planning on 2 weeks before. BUT that is due to our fall break. Which many, many others share. And many of those head to Disney. I'd check Halloween week versus Columbus Day week.

Actually, I would love to be able to overlap sometime - a few days before Halloween and then a few days after...Halloween decor AND Christmas!

go over halloween if you can. the resorts have wonderful activities going on like trick or treating, games, and character meets. Art of Animation really impressed us with their activities! they had game stations and trick or treating after you played their game. they let the kids pick a toy and then say trick or treat and got a handful of candy in their bag. there were 5 stations set up around the big blue pool. goofy and pluto took turns coming out to dance and pose for pics. i was really impressed. the other resorts do similar things. which resort will you be at? we went to AK on Halloween and the crowds didnt seem bad. The halloween party at MK was crowded but fun. We normally go for the week before Halloween for my bday but this year both my bday and Halloween were in the same week. We left Nov 2... so we got to see the Osbourne Lights Nov 1st!!! that said all the times we have been for my bday, like 3 or 4, we never went over Halloween and now i would pick Halloween week.
