My 5 day DL trip is only 2 weeks away and after the last two weeks I have had... I need it badly.:sad1:

Let me summarize my last two weeks. My roomate tells me he has to move out in july due to family issues, I come down with some horrible plague that has kept me in bed with a 102 fever  , and to top it all off, I may be diabetic.

I don't think I have ever needed to get away this badly. I have watched every DL video on Youtube that I can find, I read all the forums, browse through the DLR website like I will magically see something that I have not before. I don't know what else to do or how I can make it through these two weeks. But I do know that when I get there... it will all be worth it!:cool1::banana:
The problem is I'm going Disney nuts now, and I'm out of stuff for a Disney fix.

I'm not really sure why I'm posting this, I guess it might just be to kind of let out a little steam.

So sorry for your bad luck the past two weeks. I too have had a bad last couple of weeks! Nothing like yours, just a lot of little things really stressing me out.

I too can only watch youtube and just wait for a magical vacation that will erase the troubles of the world.:cloud9:

I've got a bit longer than 2 weeks though.

I'm sending you pixie dust so your last 2 weeks go FAST! :) I hope everything calms down soon and you have a great vacation. :)

I hope that you feel better, and real soon. :) I am sorry that you are having a hard time right now. Hopefully, you will be able to find a new room mate, and soon. I am sure that is no easy task.
Have you checked to see if (If you have cable, maybe dish will work too?) your cable station has on demand like Comcast does in Ca? For there are different Disney related subjects, at times, they are short, but fun to watch all the same. Also, there is the free Disney DVD planning guide. IF you do not have it, just order it when you have a chance to do so. Then there are various Disney shows that you can Tivo. Also on the Travel Channel, there are numerous, very nice Disney travel shows. And on other stations as well.
I know all about having a really hard time, so I can relate with you. I hope that things finally get better for all of us. This year, has seen almost nothing but big, huge losses to me. Death, loss, being without a home. It sucks!! (Not the best word choice granted, but it will do) And what is interesting, it seems to me that for all otherwise good willing people, that in the end, everyone fails you. Funny, I am always willing to help, but when I really could use it, normally I better find a way to make it happen, because there will be no one to be found to help. Not relatives, not so called friends, nor acquaintances, absolutely, positively NO ONE! Nice, right? No!

Try this: buy a can of Dole Pineapple Juice and a container of Ben & Jerry's Jamaican Me Crazy (pineapple and mango) sorbet and combine for a homemade Dole Whip float.

And there's always the Anaheim HoJo webcam, too! You can watch the fireworks with it (well, on nights that the Park has them)!

I just wanted to thank you all for your positive support. You are all amazing. This really does make me feel a little better about my last two weeks.

OK, it just hit me...possibly that's not the best idea, if the OP does indeed have blood sugar issues. :upsidedow

OP, if you do, if it's type 2, and if you're going to attack it with better eating, feel free to PM me and I can get you in touch with my hubby. He was diagnosed at a blood glucose level of almost 500 (he was sick as a dog which is what got him to the urgent care) last September. His family has a complicated history...his mom was diagnosed as type 1 but refuses insulin and is relatively OK, but we're not sure about that diagnosis...hubby's presented as though it was type 1 per the diagnosing doc, but he EASILY controls it with diet and exercise...it's confusing. But he now has levels in the 90s, with only diet and exercise, and it's become very easy to figure out if he's spiking (which means 120, not 400+ now) because he has heavy emotional symptoms.

So if you want to talk about food and exercise with him, if that's relevant for your situation, feel free to PM. in closing...for him (and many others), cinnamon is GOOD.

Well, I think it's because we've all been there, so everyone has a wealth of tricks that has worked for them. We "feel your pain" so to speak.

On a side note, the husband of the new Biggest Loser winner has recently got into shape himself and is now completely off of his type 2 diabetes medication. Also, my grandmother has it but has never had to take medication because she leads such an active lifestyle and eats right (dunno how she got it, but at least she's able to keep it in check). So you can fight it on your own if you don't want to be tied down by meds. Best of luck to you.
