We'll soon be booking a 2 week holiday to our joint favourite place with WDW. La Gomera. :)

It's the island next to Tenerife, so we fly to TFS and get a boat across.

This means our airline choices are all the budget ones. Now maybe I'm being cheap, but £32/case?!? The flights aren't even that good value.

So, Jack and I have decided we're going to have one case between us for the 2 weeks.

I usually pack half a case just for toiletries and another half just for shoes!!

But I'm actually quite excited to pack do frugally. We have a washing machine there and my Mum says there's a new supermarket in our tiny village that is pretty good. So I'm thinking is we each take:

3 swimsuits
2 pairs of shorts
3 or 4 tops
1 pair flip flops
Outfit for evening meal.
Weeks worth of underwear.

Then I'll just pack a mini shampoo and sun cream and we'll get the rest there.

Oh and in my hand luggage I'll take medicine and we'll be wearing bigger shoes and a warmer outfit.

Anyone else done similar? How did it work out?

Never have any problem flying with just hand luggage. You can buy toiletries out there, or buy at the airport. Wear anything heavy (jumpers, jeans, trainers) on the plane. Then put the rest of what you plan to take on the bed, then put half of it away again.

Oh and if you take stuff that's virtually had it - old trainers etc. - then you don't need to bring them back!

I think I could do it BUT only if we were going to somewhere like you are going which I assume is mainly a beachy type holiday. I could never manage with Florida! I need more then a couple of pairs of shoes with all that walking and also a couple of changes of clothes per day. Def would not want tobe doing washing etc every couple of days, once a week is enough on hols. Nah..totally out of the question for Florida:rotfl: We are taking two cases in September and I have paid for an extra one on the way back for all our goodies, which again, we would not be able to buy with just one case between us.:)

Yes I definitely couldn't do it for WDW!!

In Gomera all we do is lay by the pool and read for 2 weeks.

Problem is it's so small and quiet if any clothing is missing (other than a sarong or swim wear) there's nowhere to buy anything! As my Dad learnt last year when they got there at the start of their 3 week Christmas trip and he'd forgotten to pack pants!!

your list sounds good to me :)

We usually take loads to WDW, so we dont have to wash clothes.
Staying in a hotel, its a waste of time to wash clothes. It's different when you stay in a villa, can put the washing on before you go out etc.
Next year, going to OZ and staying at my brothers, so going to take as little as possible. ;)

try the compression bags you can buy (Boots and Lakeland do them off the top of my head). You put your clothes in them and then roll them to squeeze all the air out - a suitcase full of clothes then only takes half as much space! I absolutely swear by them! I don't have any problems with creasing either as there is no air in the bag to 'set' the creases! We use them where ever we go as they save so much space and we always run out of space before we hit the weight allowance.

We're the same, we usually pack one suitcase with shoes and toiletries :thumbsup2

I think you're packing well, you can do washing and buy more toiletries over there, have a great time ::yes::

Lucky you that you get to pack shoes lol! Florida next year is the first time we haven't shared a suitcase! As we have had to pay £30+ for a suitcase as well!

I could never share a case. I need space!! Usually I'm about 17 kilos on the way to wdw with a 20 kilo allowance! It's a struggle to not go over!!
