We are staying 2 weeks at disneyland and was hoping for some hotel recommendations. We have stayed at HoJos which was good, but for 2 weeks the rooms are a little small for 5 of us. Can anyone recommend a better alternative for around the same price.

The Residence Inn Maingate has larger rooms with kitchen and living areas. It gets great reviews and is within walking distance (maybe just a couple minutes longer than the HoJo). They also have a free hot breakfast each morning and I think they have some afternoon food offerings as well.

They are more expensive than the HoJo, but may work with you for an extended stay discount.

We have stayed at the RI Maingate numerous times and love it. HOJO has nothing large enough for the 6 of us. Great breakfast, managers specials at night and they will grocery shop for you, no charge(except you pay for the grocerys). We have never had a problem. PM me if you have some questions.

We stayed at the other RI. For 2 weeks it's worth paying a bit more. You get the free breakfast plus you can cook some of your own meals in the kitchen to save $$$.

I'm staying at the Fairfield for two weeks. They have like these princess rooms that can accomodate up to 7 people. But therer are only like 4 in the whole hotel.

We are staying at the Homewood Suites on Chapman and Harbor right now, about a mile or so from the park. We have a mini kitchen (fridge, dishwasher, sink, small stove top, microwave), a "living room" with an L shaped couch that has a pull out bed (all 3 of our kids are sleeping on it - 2 on the bed, one on the part of the couch that is left intact) and a bedroom with a big bathroom. We get free breakfast every morning (hot eggs, meat, potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles, etc.) and free dinner Mon - Thurs nights (including beer and wine). The food is great, especially since it is free :rotfl: . There are also several restaurants in walking distance, a Starbucks next door, and Target is across the street. We are here for 17 days, we've been here 10 so far and we aren't feeling too cramped yet. There is a Disney shuttle stop (the city one?? we have a car, so I'm not sure about it) right outside the front door.

My brother has been trying to get a ressie there during August for the 2 bedroom suite, wants to hedge his bet if he does not stay at the GC and it has been impossible. Does sound nice though. A bit of a distance from the park.

They only have 2 2-bedrooms on the property. Since we are Gold or Elite or something like that with Hilton (my dh handles all that stuff, LOL) we get free upgrades when they are available, so he asked if there was a 2 bedroom available when we checked in and they told them they only have 2 of them and they are always booked up! The 1 bedroom is pretty decent size, but then again our kids are young so they fit well on the pull out bed and couch. You can get a 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds in it instead of 1 king, then you'd have the pull out couch also. The distance is definitely bad for walking, but it only takes about 5 minutes to drive over, and we see the shuttles out there almost every time we drive in or out.
