Hi everyone
!! I have finally gotten time to start on my trip report.
Lets start from the beginning for any new readers.
The cast:
Me
- the Mommy, Heather, turned 27 on the trip. This was my 6th trip to the world. I fell in love with Disney on my first trip in 1998.
Bella
- 5 ½, wonderful big sister, starting kindergarten 2 weeks after our trip. This trip was a celebration of her starting school. Loves all princesses and Hannah Montana.
Hailey
- 3, has the nickname Bean because she is tiny. Has asthma, this was my first time dealing with the illness away from home. Loves princesses and Pooh & friends.
We flew out of Stewart airport in NY on Wednesday August 19th, staying at POP Century, leaving Tuesday August 25th. We had 5 day base tickets and the free dining plan.
Since I have covered all the back story, packing, and preparation in my pre-trip report, I will start on the morning of the 19th.
My step-father picked us up at my house at 5:30am, and we drove the hour to the airport
. We didnt hit any traffic and the trip was smooth. When we arrived at the airport, we could see our plane sitting at the terminal already. Things are looking good.
We headed in, checked our 1 bag, and went over to security. I was traveling with aresols (asthma meds), and liquids (amoxocillin with ice), and sailed through security with no problem.
We headed the 20 feet to our terminal, picked a seat by the window, and prepared to wait the hour or so until we could board.
About 10 minutes before we were ready to board, we got an announcement that there was a little delay, and we would get more info when they knew something. So I decided to take the kids for a walk through the airport to burn off some energy. While we were walking, they announced that the problem was a flat tire on the plane, and they would be changing it. Our estimated delay at this point was an hour. No problem.
Once the hour was up, they let us know the next bit of bad news - they dont know what caused the flat tire, so they have to change the other tire also. Ok, no problem, at least they are doing their best to keep us safe.
Now the best part, they only had one tire at this airport. They needed to transport a tire up from NYC for our plane. Then the tire got stuck in traffic.

Long story short, our flight that should have landed at 11:16am in Orlando, landed at 5:55pm. The weather was awful, so we had a bumpy flight. The good news - the kids were GREAT the whole time. The best news - we were finally within an hour of Disney!! We headed straight for the Disney Magical Express bus, got right on, and we were off!
First stop - Pop Century.
Up next... our first night. 8 hours of plans stuffed into 2 hours
