2 rooms at POP vs. 1 room at Beach Club

I am considering 2 options for our March 2018 trip.

We have 2 adults and 2 teenagers and are, currently, booked at (1 room) BC lagoon/pool view for 7 nights. We got an awesome 30% code for the BC room. We have never stayed at an EPCOT resort, only POR, CBR, Contemporary, Poly, & WL.

But...For about 1,300 dollars less, we can stay 7 nights at POP with 2 rooms with the current 20% Sun & Fun offer.
I like the idea of 2 bathrooms and the extra space with two teens, but we have never stayed in a value resort before and are trying to decide what choice is best.

What are your thoughts on 2 rooms at POP (1,300 less for this option) vs. 1 lagoon view room at BC for my family of 4 in March 2018? More space/less expensive vs. less space/more amenities? I appreciate your input!

If $ was not issue, i would vote Beach Club but 1300 is a fair amount of $...

POP is a nice resort.. i never regretted staying there and would have stayed there many more times had it not been for the twins.. Having never stayed at BC i would be very tempted to stay there $1300 be damned. ! ;)

Since Pop is my least favourite resort at WDW I would definitely choose Beach Club if you can afford it, even if that means you have to share one room.

Thank you so much for the great feedback! You have helped us make the final decision! Even though extra space would be nice, we have decided to stay with BC so the teens can enjoy some independence/time to explore, use SAB, and we can expand our QS dining options. Having said that, I suppose I better add the park hopper option to enjoy the full amenities of BC? :)

BC is our favorite resort. Our family of 4 (as adults/young adults) has stayed there multiple times. It will be more cramped than 2 rooms obviously, but if you travel well together it shouldn't be too bad. Proximity to 2 parks can not be overstated in my opinion. Kids liked being able to go on their own or to meet us and the pool is great. Also remember that 2 rooms could leave you in separate areas of the resort. But, $1300 is a lot of money!

You won't regret staying at BC! It's so beautiful and being able to walk to Epcot cannot be beat! You'll likely finding yourself going everyday--by using the "secret" door by room 1501, the walk is literally 2 minutes. Totally doable to pop into France for a snack and pop right back out!

Thank you @klacey1 ! This is just the reassurance that I needed to hear! Yay... We can't wait :)

I'd definitely go for the 2 rooms given that you're staying a full week. Then, you could either just save the $1300 or use some of that to experience more of what Disney/Central Florida has to offer.

Given a choice I would, and often do, choose the BC. The resort offers a lot of amenities, and is so convenient to two parks. With teens, I think the added bonus is the amount of flexibility as well as freedom they can have.

My kids (boys, ages 11 and 12) refuse to stay at Pop for more than a few nights. They actually asked to “never stay here again,” but relented when I pointed out a Pop stay was helpful when we arrived late or decided to extend vacation by a few days at the last minute. Their first stay was at YC and they were spoiled after being close to the parks and having a pool slide...so we would always choose one room at a deluxe over two at a value even with the price difference.

I've got 5 kids, and each of them know better than to complain about anything extra or superfluous, especially a Disney vacation.
Well, I admit, I was being more than a bit flippant when I said my kids "refuse" to stay at Pop, etc. I simply asked their opinion after a two night Pop stay we tacked onto our longer vacation last summer...because I take their opinion and likes/dislikes into account when planning vacations and was curious for future visits. My DS's know they aren't the decision makers, and they understand that sometimes I can accommodate their requests...and sometimes I can't. They also know that I take their opinions seriously. And because of that, they trust me and don't complain about vacation choices...they didn't complain about Pop, they simply said they didn't enjoy it very much after the first afternoon at the pool and asked not to stay there again if at all possible (though understood why we might do so again...again, without complaint).

In regards to the OP's post, unless her teens are park commandos, I'd recommend BC if it fits in their budget based on my experience. My family, including kids, simply enjoy the benefits of deluxe resorts much more than we do the value ones.

One factor I haven’t seen mentioned is that connecting rooms at Pop are a request and not guaranteed. So you could possibly end up with two rooms that might not even be directly next to each other, and if neither of the teens is 18 or older you’d have to book one parent in each room. BC wouldn’t have that complication!

I would go with Beach Club.. for the a lot of the reasons stated above...

I did want to throw out there what about a family suite at AOA. Bigger room, with 2 bathrooms, 2 TV... I know you kids are teenagers, but we have stay there on an all girls trip and my DD who is 28 and 5'9" slept on the pull down with out any problem, my mom took the pull out couch which were both very comfortable, plus there is a door for some privacy for mom and dad...Not sure if this resort is in the discounted options but it might be worth a look...

I would go with the park hoppers.

as you can see by my signature, I'm a pretty big fan of the Epcot resort area. I have stayed recently at CSR and POR mostly because we needed 2 rooms, because we were 5 adults. If I could squish into BC I would do it every time. It's just so awesome to be able to get to so many parks without the bus system or a car.
