2 Room Request

My next trip will be the first time traveling with 5 adults so I think we are going to need 2 rooms. How this does work when trying to request connecting rooms? How likely is the probability of getting this request or will it sometimes be a room close by? It would be unfortunate to have my party be on a separate floor or worse a separate building.

Thanks

All you can do is request connecting rooms and know that while Disney does its best to fulfill requests, there's always a chance that your rooms won't be connecting.

This. Plus priority for connecting room requests *should* go first to families with children who will be in one room. (Even those are not guaranteed. From reports even in a case with only one adult!) My assumption would be that the priority in granting them would be 1) single parent with more kids than can fit in one room; 2) two-parent family with more kids than can fit in one room; 3) other requests including all-adult parties. (That was how it went at the hotel I used to work reservations at anyway - and the only thing that really makes sense.)

If connecting is that important to you, make it your ONLY request. But know that it IS only a request.

If it is really important to be close together, you can book an option that only has one building such as business class at CSR. This pretty much eliminates the separate buildings scenario. (a real possibility, so go prepared with the 'we can deal with it' attitude)
For example, that way, at CSR BC, you know that you will all be in the same building at least. Plus, you have the advantage of the lounge to gather together in for a drink, quick breakfast or snack.
other examples:
POR RR with pool view are almost all in Oak manor. (there are just a couple across the pool in Parterre Place)
Little mermaid rooms in AoA are all located in one of just two building directly across from each other.
Poly CL, all in Hawaii building
GF, SL CL is all in one building

Just look at your resort choices and book accordingly to narrow you risk of distant rooms, Then make connecting rooms your only request.

Good luck!

Business Class is no more at CSR.

Oh, NO!!!! Please say it isn't so! When did that happen?

That was my favourite place to stay in CSR! Is 9B preferred or just a request now?

A couple weeks ago they closed the building. They were moving guests that already had reservations to AKL CL.

Right now it's non-existent as a building with rooms while they decide what they are doing with it.

We didn't request connecting but the CM told us to link our reservations and request the rooms be close to one another when my MIL travels with us. At BC we had 2 different categories CL and Standard and she was only one floor below us but at the completely opposite end of the resort. Really couldn't have been much further away. At CBR we originally had a different building and didn't get my top request so we asked if there was any way we could be moved and they got us in the same building opposite sides. POFQ put us in the same building opposite sides as well. Not sure if a "connecting" request would have done us any better than "as close as possible" but I doubt it.

If you are placed really far away when you arrive you can always do what we did and ask nicely if there is any chance they can get you a little closer together.

My favourite option to help insure being close together is CR CL TPV. That will get you in the tower on the same floor and even on the same side of the building. It is very expensive, but almost guarantees relatively close, convenient rooms. Add the only request to be connecting/adjacent rooms and you stand a really good chance of not being too far apart, IMO. If in the budget, it would be my first choice with an all adult group wanting to be very close together.

Thank you, Dansdad.

Wish I had one of those booked! I would love an upgrade like that to AKL CL!

So very sad......

Connecting rooms are never guaranteed. It's the luck of the draw. Your second room may indeed be on another floor or in another building. It's just a matter of what rooms are available on your check in day. To have better odds, make the connecting room your only request.

Maybe adjoining rooms instead of connecting would up your chances?
