Stupid question, I have a room only ressie for POR in May. We just got back from a wonderful, but too short of a trip at the Poly, & I want to stay there again in May. DH wants to try to wait for a code or discount. I don't want to miss out on a room. Can I book another resort for the same dates & then cancell whichever one I don't want later? Didn't know if the 'system' would see that I already have an existing ressie. Thanks for the help.

In the past we have booked the room we wanted and when the codes came out called and Disney applied the code. That was just for room only reservations. I don't know how packages work. I don't see why you couldn't have 2 reservations as long as you cancel before going except it might stop someone else from making a reservation if rooms are all booked.

CRO now has a record of all reservations in the system and if someone notices, you'll be required to cancel one.

We had an overlapping reservation at two different resorts with a different arrival date for one, but because one night over lapped we had to cancel one. I did speak with guest services, but we did have to cancel.

We had the second reservation because we could not get all of the nights at that resort, hoping it would open up later, but would have a resort if it did not.

We were not holding up several nights so another guest could not get that room, it was one night.

Some CM's will not say anything, but if you get one who goes by the book, they will make you cancel.

Good luck!!

That's the info I was looking for-thanks so much. Now, can you decide which resort I will be staying at too?????:)

Not trying to flame you OP, but this is exactly why Disney now cancels one of your ressies if you are double booked. Too many people had that same exact idea! I would book what you can afford to pay rack rate for, and then upgrade if the resort becomes available.
