2 Reservations - Borrowed points

My intent is to make a reservation for a family member for a few days. I will be there at the same time - same resort - different room. The likelihood of me cancelling my stay is much, much lower. Since I have to borrow points I want them to be used for my reservation, not the other one. That way if the other one cancels, I can still bank, as they would be current UY points.

Can I make my reservation first and borrow points even though I have enough current points - leaving some current points for the 2nd ressie? Anything special I have to do? (My booking window opens earlier since the other ressie is the 2nd half of my stay)

You could always make a "fake" reservation using the points you want use for that 2nd reservation. Then book your trip, borrowing what you need. Then cancel the "fake" trip and book that 'maybe' trip using bankable points.

No, you can’t borrow as long as current t UY points are available. if You want borrowed points, just book a reservation that needs borrowed points,

Exactly what I did and worked perfectly. I was even able to find a reservation the borrowed the exact amounts of points I needed. I was expecting possibly go over a few and end up banking a few current ones, but not needed.

just make the Family member res first using current points then make your res and borrow what you need.
