1 - Is the parade only run on Saturdays?
2 - What do we have to do to get on one of the floats as a bead tosser?
Thanks all!
I think there's a place where you have to report if you want to be on a float but I haven't heard where that is for this year. If you have an AP, they usually mention in the flyer.1 - Is the parade only run on Saturdays?

The big Mardi Gras parade is only on Saturday nights...unless they change it this year.
It's not really worth it...all the viewing areas are pretty much the same. I stood in the AP viewing area one year but left when I found another spot that was better.I saw on line where hotel guests have a preferred viewing area. has anyone used this or does anyone know where it is?

I've never seen the parade on any night other than Saturday night. I've been going for quite a few years so if they are having the parade on other nights, it's a new policy. They have only been doing concerts on Friday and Sunday for the last couple of years.I didn't know there was a smaller version of the Mardi Gras parade? The parade is every night there is a concert.
That's a great parade route this year and a lot longer than before! The new newsletter is available for passholders online.
The French Quarter area is the New York area in front of Twister and Revenge of the Mummy. That's where the smaller concerts will be held. The headline shows and the smaller concerts will not be going on at the same time. The smaller shows will be earlier in the afternoon...say around 5pm or so. The headline shows won't start until 8-9pm.Are the events in the French Quarter going on all day - or do they just have bands at night? And which attraction is the French Quarter close to on the map?
I'm still trying to figure out my Saturday night, and want to avoid Lynard Skynard while hearing some of the other bands, seeing the parade, and eating at Marley's (somehow).![]()

Just wanted to add, in the mid-afternoon until an hour or so before the parade, the "characters" from the parade generally mingle with the crowd in the French Quarter area, posing for pictures and handing out beads.
Marleys gets insanely packed during Mardi Gras nights (well, really, all weekend nights). Might want to think about it for lunch instead. Otherwise, should have no problem seeing the early concerts and catching the parade.
One member of our party has an Ap and the other three will have flex tickets. Will we be able to go to see the parade and the band? Do you need to pay etra for Mardi gras or just get in before the park closes?
