let's say I go ahead and buy a SSR contract for 150 points. Then I buy another 50 points from VWL. Do I get the benefit of the 11 month window at VWL for all of my 200 points?

Also, if you are buying for the first time, why not buy the cheapest points, say HHI instead of BCV or whatever? Is it that difficult to book some of the more "in demand" properties 7 months out?

You would have the 11 month advantage with the 50 points at VWL, not the total 200. Some people own a small amount like that and borrow/bank for a vacation with the total amount every 2-3 years. You would have the SSR 11 month advantage with the 150 points there. Per your other question, you can usually book at WDW 7 months out, but it will definitley be more difficult during busy times for DVC, such as Spring Break, Food and Wine, early December. You could probably get *something* if you are extremely flexible with dates and location. HTH

Not to plagarize anyone, but to quote the wise members of this board:

"Buy where you want to stay"

I'm still taking notes. ;)

First of all, I assume you are considering the impact of the annual maintenance fees, when you say "cheapest". :teeth:

As far as how hard to book at 7 months - opinions vary. You'll be quite interested in this thread:
