HI all ---

I have two questions:

I thought I saw once upon a time diagrams of the DVC room layouts. Now I can't find them. Does anyone know where these may be?

Is there a downside to having two contracts at two different resorts? We've been looking for a 300 pt sale at BVC, but are now thinking about 150 at WLV and 150 at BVC.

What would the pros and cons of doing this be? I can't think of any cons.

Thanks for your insight!!

Take a look at this link it lists each of the DVC resorts. Select the resort you desire and you will find the floor plans through the "Accommodations/Amenities" link located on the left margin. I hope this is what you were looking for.

All of our DVC points are at one resort...so I'll let someone else respond to your second question.

Depending on what size room you need and what time of year you are going, there is a big advantage to those 2 particular homes. VWL is hard to get into for the holidays. BCV is popular because of SAB. They are both smaller resorts. It is also unknown how hard the smaller resorts will be to book at the 7 month window once you factor in all the new SSR owners. If VWL is important to you, than I would make it a home for the booking priority and work on banking and borrowing for your stays at each resort.

Even if you decide on all BCV, you may want to consider to 150 point contracts if there is a slight chance you would be selling or gifting/willing them in the future.

Hope this helps.

Since DVC allows banking and borrowing, your two 150 contracts at different resorts would allow you to always book at your home resort (BCV or VWL) at the 11 month window with the full 300 points.

This is what we've done with VWL and BWV and it works out great. For us, the key is to have two contracts the same size so that alternating contracts is fairly easy to do.

The only downside is you will pay closing costs for two resales instead of just one. And you might pay a slightly higher cost per point with the smaller size contracts.

But IMHO, if you really like both resorts, the two different contracts is a good way to go.

While all of my points are at OKW, another downside to owning at 2 resorts would be having to track the point usage of both contracts. banking and borrowing windows, etc. But, if you truly want to stay at two different resorts, the positives would outweigh the negatives.
