Hi all,

This is my first post to this board, but I have been reading all of your knowledgeable posts for a couple of weeks now.

We will be staying at FW in August, and I have a couple of questions.

1. Are "day guests" allowed to come and visit with you, use the pool, go to the campfire ceremony, etc? Do they have to pay a "day use fee"?

2. Can FW guests use the pool at Wilderness Lodge?

Thanks so much!
Jo

I know you will love it here! There are so many nice people and soooo much useful information, you won't know how you maneged to plan a disney trip without it!

I know you can have guests at FW. They wil have to leave their cars at the front and take the internal bus to your campsite. I know they can go to the campfire program, but I am not totally sure about the pools. I'm sure someone will come along shortly and give you all the information that you need :)

Resort guests are only to use the pool at the resort they are register at, the only exception that i know of is if you are Disney Vacation Club member, they have pool hopping privledges, If the guests are with you I see no reason why they could not use the pool with you as well.

Yes, your day guests can use the pool & the rest of the facilities at the campgrounds. You have to tell the front desk when you check in you'll have visitors. They'll have to park by the Reception Outpost and take a bus to your site. As far as the WL pool goes "Officially" it's for guests there only.

We've had day guests. If they don't want to wait for the bus they call us on the cell when they are about to arrive & we meet them at the gate & drive them in ourselves. Sometimes it's quicker than waiting for a bus & then trying to find the loop & cabin if they are unfamiliar with FW. Have fun!!

Also, we pool hopped to WL once when we thought it was still an amenity for all resort guests. Boy, were we embarrassed when they checked ID & we handed them our FW one & were asked to leave. It wasn't even peak season, so don't try it!! We learned the hard way.

Regarding pools, Disney has had problems with people "pool-hopping" to other pools. In fact SAB (Stormalong Bay) pool at YC/BC/BCV will issue wrist bands during peak times.

Other times they just check resort ID's.

Even DVC members cannot pool hop all the time. There are capacity restrictions and pool hopping for DVC members is allowed only on days when pool capacities are not an issue. Even then we're suppose to call ahead and check that it's OK to pool hop that day. And beginning July 1st, even SAB will be off limits to pool hopping for even DVC members. Only those staying at BCV will be allowed to use the SAB pool.

One of the other problems is "locals" who come into Disney and use the pools for the day. These are not resort guests. This has become a real sore spot with guests staying at the various resorts.
