Ok first question, were flying out on airtran in just under one month (YAYA) and i just noticed that our flight is having a web special for almost half of what i payed for the tickets!! can I get a refund on the difference? and second should i be nervous that they may cancel the flight? or move it? we have a lot riding so to speak on leaving at that time.

also was reading about familys not sitting together. does that happen alot on airtran?? I too am traveling with a 4 yr old ( a very skidish 4 yr old and my Mom who has a fractured hip ( therfore needing a little more help plus im not a good flyer to be gin with ( scared to death and get very very motions sick no matter what medicine i get put on) Nerves do make it worse and being seperated form my little one would really upset me and her ( shes a very loud screamer when upset).

anyone with any experience would be helpfull

thanks a bunch.

I really cannot advise you on the airfare question but can about seating.
We flew AirTran in June for the first time. We picked out our seats the day before the flight using their web site. I believe that you can do this starting 24 hours before your flight up to 90 minutes before departure. The process is really simple. They show you a layout of the plane and you just click on the seats you want. You can then print out the boarding passes from home and head right to security when you get to the airport. There is no waiting at any counter and you have the seats you want.
We did not have access to a printer coming back but we still picked out our seats from their web site and got the boarding passes from the AirTran ticket counter. This took longer (the line was LONG), but we still had the seats we wanted.

Many airlines will issue a credit voucher if their prices drop and you call them (they don't volunteer to give you back money). The credit voucher would be good for one year from date of issue. Also, it has to be for the same fare code. I don't know if Airtran does this, but I'd give them a call.

I wouldn't worry about them canceling the flight. If anything, they may combine flights, but I doubt that will happen. Since they run fewer flights any kind of cancelation would anger/inconvenience a lot of people and hurt their reputation. I doubt they'd cancel anything.

As far as sitting together, if you can't/don't want to print a boarding pass from the web I believe you can call them beginning 24 hours before your flight to get seat assignments. Barring that, I would get to the airport about 2 hours before your flight so you can check in before many seats have been assigned. Given your circumstances most airlines would probably go out of their way to make sure everyone sits together.

Our Airtran prices dropped a little and when I called to see about vouchers, they said that they don't do that. I would have to cancel my current tickets at a loss of $50 each ticket, then rebook at the sale price. My difference wasn't that great, so I passed. Please post if they do offer you vouchers, though, in case the person I spoke with was incorrect.

That happened to me as well. I booked for $89 each way, and now it is $59 each way. I called and the service rep told me the same thing that Snurk71 was told. :(

We got our flights from the website in July and last week they sent me an e-mail that our flight was changed. We had a 9:50 am departure and they move it to 11:05 am. I checked the website and saw an eariler flight that we wanted and called and they gave us the 8:00 am time. no problem
