I have used all of my points except for 2. They are expiring at the end of September. I called DVC and the guy i spoke to basically told me there is nothing I can do.
I know the members here are super resourceful and know all the tips and tricks.
What are my options with these 2 sad points? (i did try to see if i could upgrade a room but closest is 3 extra points and it's not available)

If the room with 3 extra points becomes available you can use your 2 points and buy 1 one-time use points.

Sometimes I upgrade room to use up points and borrow a few from the next use year.

You can buy up to 24 one-time-use points and combine them with your 2 points to upgrade or add a night to your trip.

By themselves, there is nothing that can be done...but, as mentioned, if you want to buy some OTU points and upgrade some of your trip, you can do that...personally, I would just let them go!! LOL

Unless you want to add points in order to make a reservation (by borrowing from your 2023 points, transferring in points from another member or buying OTUP), there's nothing you can do.

My advice is to just let them go.

I had that happen twice when I bought resale contracts. The first time I borrowed points to add a day to my reservation, the second time I just stopped looking at my account until after I knew they were gone.

Noooooo

No points left behind!

I’d look at what I can do with up to 26 points (2 plus up to 24 one time use points) to maybe add day or upgrade. Keep stalking that upgrade that’s only 3 points and look for other options!

I wish they would allow you to waitlist then charge your card on file for any tapped points that were needed to complete it.

I feel you. I have one point that will meet its maker soon as well but oh well. It was a freebie from a resale contract but it still hurts all the same 🪦

As Sandisw said, just Frozen It! Let it go, let it go...

I can see why they don’t. When you call to buy, they have you on record as authorizing it and then they have the department that processes the charges do it.

I don’t want CMs to have the ability to charge a card without my express authorization.

There's zero chance I'd spend good money just to use bad points. As others have said, at best they are "worth" maybe $24-$28 total, even if there were 20 of them instead of 2. Spending $22 for a OTU point in order to not "lose" $24, makes no sense.

You give your authority just like you do for any other online purchase when you select the new option to purchase one time transfer points instead of pulling from a contract.

Waitlists are processed by CMs without the owner on the line. So, you’d be giving your authority ahead of time.

We have already heard of MS borrowing points to fill waitlists when the owner specifically said not to do it.

Its why I screenshot that when I set it up and yes, I had it happen and my documentation is what forced them to put the points back because I had the points for them to use in my other contract so borrowing should not have occurred.

I just think it makes sense that authorization occurs at time of purchase and why MS doesn’t allow OTU points to be purchased for waitlists.
