Has anyone had two photographers at their wedding? I'm worried it's too much... :confused3 Does one photographer get in the way or have the attention brought to him because he's moving around? How does all that work?

Does anyone think having two photographers is too much at an Escape wedding?

We just had Randy for our Escape and I never even realized where he was during the ceremony. When we got our proofs, I swear he must have been flying around to get all the angles he got. I didn't have a clue he took 75% of the photos he did. If you have a good photographer, one is plenty.

I'm just curious, why are you having 2 photographers?
are they from the same studio, so they can use 2 different cameras at the same time to get different shots?
is it a way of making more money out of you?
We had Randy and he used 2 different cameras so we got a nice varied selection of shots with different lenses. I can't imagine having or needing more than one person taking photos ( as long as you trust them to take good shots - Aunts and grandparents fall into a different catagory:goodvibes )

We traded our Disney photographer for a honeymoon shoot at Epcot the next day. Someone will know for sure, but I don't think they will allow an outside photographer AND their guy at the ceremony together.

I should have been more detailed in my question.... Okay, I've had photography drama from the very beginnning, no one being available for my date. So, I chose to stay with Disney Photography. I've always been concerned with the fact that DPS isn't very photojournalistic... so I added on that option through them, but it adds another photographer to my wedding... so they can get the angles that I'm looking for. I'm doing Escape, so my two hours is already included. It's not like I'm trying to bring in two different photographers. I'm jus trying to get good shots and my question is if having two photographers is too much and should I talk to Rosie to see if something could be done to make it less "crowded"... am I explaining this all right? :confused3

I had two photographers, Karla Fountain and her assistant. They worked beautifully together, and never got in one another's way. Plus I got different angles of everything, which was lovely. If the two photographers always work together then they'll do so seamlessly. When my husband and I shot weddings, we always worked as a pair.

If you're using Disney, then ask about having two people who are used to working together. And, no, it's not too much at an Escape wedding. If they're good at what they do, you won't even notice them.

I'm having two because I added a certain aspect to my pacakge and they will both be from Disney.
I've chosen the upgrade to the package so I can be sure I get great shots, so yes it costs me extra.
Well, Randy wasn't an option, so I don't have the luxury of not worrying about getting great pics...
I won't have two different photographers there...

Thanks for replying to what I was asking... they have a husband and wife team at Disney that I'm thinking of requesting. They do beautiful work, so here is hoping I get the pics I want. Ember, I can never remember, did you have an Escape? If so, the two photographers were not noticed by you?

I don't have that luxury... :( I don't know if who I have is great at taking the "randy" shots (the little moments), which is why I'm adding a specific photojournalistic add-on to my package, but it comes with a second photographer to capture those moments...

We used a husband and wife team through disney and they were great! During the actual wedding I hardly knew they were there - and the portrait shots were great since they got each one from 2 different angles!

Now, that's what i was looking for... could you PM me their names, if you remember, so I can make sure it's the same couple I would like to use.

Do you have an pics from your wedding you could post? Maybe... pretty please???? :hyper:

I have two photographers. I booked Misty Miotto and her husband is also a photographer. I didn't request two but the package comes with it. I like the idea because while Misty is with me her husband is with the guys and where Misty isn't at her husband is so I will be getting photographs from ALL angles!

Thanks Toni! So, no need to worry, you think?

I had a I had a Wishes wedding, but it was small with only 21 guests. And during the ceremony and reception and I only noticed them when actually looking at the camera for a specific picture. Other than that they moved quietly and very unobtrusively.

I don't think you'll regret the second photographer at all. And it means you can relax knowing that all the moments will be captured.

Nahh no worries. I think its great to have two or one. I am sure whatever photographer you have will make sure he takes great pictures. If you get two I say go for it. I am happy I have two of them!

I just want to say thanks for posting everyone! It made me feel a lot better! You guys are the best! :goodvibes

I think the only time speaking from a photography background that you would need 2 photographers would be if you had a bridal party of over 20 and 200 guests. Usually the second shooter would do more background work. Most of the times these are people just getting started in the business that want the experience in the wedding. Some may have shot for awhile that just depends. We had Randy and he captured everything and more that I would have wanted captured. By the end of the day I was SO sick of Randy being there everytime I turned around =). He captured everything! No worries there.

Thanks, but I need two photographers for a different reason. Not for having more photos, but different ones. Let me explain again... Disney's photographers are a certain style... definitely not, let's say randy's. I think most brides on here would agree with that. I've added a photojournalistic upgrade that add's another photographer that is assigned totally different shots then the basic DPS photographer. So, i will have two photographers, but two different "types" of pics. My concern was not with getting enough pics, my concern was if two photogs will get in my way, but if it's worth it for a more photojournalistic style... :thumbsup2

I see what you are saying. I don't know that much about DPS. Just ignore my post then.
