2 people die at WDW last quarter

Considering the amount of people that go through there in a given time, I'm surprised it's only 2 for the quarter!

I knew an amazing marine whose last wish was to ride small world. He was able to ride it a week before his death. I miss him!

These rides are not dangerous. The deceased persons had pre-existing medical conditions.

Although I apologize in advance for the ride having to stop for a few minutes, it would be ok with me, once the time comes at a ripe old age, to take my last breath on Haunted Mansion.

We once got stuck on Small World in the "White Room" for 20 minutes and almost wished we'd die (no disrespect to the deceased intended...).

This is what I was thinking. I mean, it's entirely likely somebody would have a heart attack in the middle of Main Street USA...

Neither died *on* the rides. Both lost consciousness on rides and died later. The article itself contradicts its own headline. Typical sensational journalism.

On New Year's Eve a friend of the family's daughter almost died at EPCOT, she had a brain aneurism. She was finally a few days ago transferred to a hospital back home and has an optimistic recovery expectation. So people can die anywhere due to other circumstances. I think she is about 15.

One has to consider the families who travel to Disney to fulfill the wish of someone with a medical condition.

As a pp said, I too would love to draw my last breath on HM and join the happy haunts there. ;)

The "population" of WDW including guests and CMs is equal to that of a small U.S. city. Seems like there would be deaths on property several times a week:confused3

That's how I would like to go as well!

I mean no disrespect to these families but.....the disboards really need 'like' :thumbsup2 button! Some of these responses sure made me smile :)

Several times a week???

Why would that be surprising? I'm surprised the numbers aren't higher. Look on the obituary page(s) of any small city newspapers. Disregarding deaths by crime, there are always those who pass away, unexpectedly or after a long illness, almost every day.

That's awful news. But are they really implying that Its a Small World and Toy Story were the cause??? It's a Small World is the most calming slow relaxing ride out there.
