I haven't booked any transportation yet and we are arriving to MCO in 11 days. I used Mears shuttlebus back in '97 when my friend and I went to visit Disney and I remember it being pretty good. I was like 20 dollars or something and after we dropped off other people at their hotels we arrived at *** just fine. Anyway, after reading these boards I wonder if that's the way to go. People hate Mears aparantly. It's just me and my BF and we don't want to pay alot. What should I do? How do I get to the Poly from the airport.
P.S. - We are not, and don't plan on renting a car. We will never use it the whole trip.
THANKS FOR ANY INFO!!

Since it's just the 2 of you, I would go with Mears. Do you have a coupon from your reservation? The main hassle with Mears is multiple stops, but if that doesn't bother you, then go for it!

I don't have a coupon because I booked everything seperately. But I think I read somewhere you can go to the window and buy a ticket. Is that true?
I remember the ride with Mears on my last trip being kinda long because we had to drop people off at other hotels, but I don't think we were really annoyed by it, maybe just a little anxious. We didn't have any major delays.
I just hope this time we don't have one of those horror experiences I've read on here. Some people are saying three hours after their plane landed they were finally at their hotel and it was all becasue of Mears. To anyone reading this: what is the average time it took to get the thier hotels when using Mears?...

Average time is a useless number because actual time can be much longer.

Heads up when using town cars and limos (the alternatives to Mears): If you have baggage problems, especially lost or damaged baggage or stolen items, somebody's gotta stay behind and wait at the airline's customer service. If you don't take care of this immediately, your chances of getting reimbursed are greatly reduced. The one person staying behind would probably end up on the Mears shuttle.

If you want a coupon, I have plenty. PM or email me and I'll send you one by snail-mail, unless you're leaving within the next week. Mears is a good value for a one or two person party; yeah you make a few stops along the way and they pick you up way too early on the return, but it's fine. Anyone who is used to riding public transit shoudl find Mears on par or a step up.

Thank you so much for the offering of the coupon but I was toying with the idea of getting a limo. Now that I've decided to go with Mears (and it's only a few days away and too late for that coupon! OOPS!), I wonder if I need to call in advance or is there a counter that I go to, pay for a ticket and wait for the shuttle bus? Basically just wondering if I need to call ahead or can I just do the Mears thing once I've gotten my luggage.

You can make a reservation on their website (www.mearstransportation.com), or just walk up to the counter and make arrangements then.

The round trip price from MCO to the Polynesian is $29 per person.

You may want to look into 2 one-way rentals from National. You can rent from MCO and drop it off at the Car Care Center or the Dolphin and vice versa.
