2 part question...washing rayon & maxi dresses

I just bought 1 maxi dress and 1 maxi skirt from Old Navy that I really like. I got home and realized that they are both 100% rayon. On the tag of the skirt, it says machine wash, and on the tag of the dress it says hand wash . I was under the impression that rayon should always be dry cleaned to prevent shrinkage.
Even though I really like them, I thought to myself that maybe getting them dry cleaned won't be worth all the trouble, and that I can find a cute maxi dress somewhere else. So, I'm looking online at lots of other stores and every other maxi dress I've seen has also been 100% rayon.

So I'm really wondering, 1) would you think that they still need to be dry cleaned, even though the tags say otherwise, and 2) have you found a maxi dress that you like that isn't rayon?

I wash mine in the machine on cold in a lingerie bag. Hang to dry. Never had a problem.

Rayon should be washed cold on delicate and then hung up. It will wrinkle but it irons out easily.

I also have always machine washed mine in cold water and try to hang to dry, but sometimes DH or someone will forget to take it out to hang dry and it goes through the dryer, but they have always been ok.
