We are going to Disney Oct 30 - Nov 5, 2010. It will me, my husband and my two boys age 13. We want to go to Universal one day. We are thinking about going Mon, Nov 1 or Tue, Nov 2. We are staying in Disney so we will not have the front of the line access. How does the following sound, or do you have other suggestions to see what we want to see?

Get to park at opening
Start at Islands of Adventure and do:
Forbidden Journey
Hippogriff Coaster - might miss if it looks like for small kids.
Hogsmeade Shops - shopping/lunch
Spiderman
Jurassic Park

Then to to Universal Studios and do:
Mummy - must see
Men In Black - must see
Disaster - must see
ET - must see
Simpsons - must see
Shrek 4D - don't care if we miss it
Nicktoon Blast - don't care if we miss it
Jaws - don't care if we miss it
Twister - don't care if we miss it

The Flight of the Hippogriff is a milder coaster, you may want to try the Dragon Challenge for a more intense ride.

I think that looks like a good plan! I recommend seeing the Horror Make-Up Show. I think your family would enjoy it. :)

Sounds like a good plan...just don't rush yourselves. If you are running out of time, just upgrade to the two day ticket and come back.
