I am planning a trip to fl in april 2010....I am checking the prices of tickets to universal studios and islands of adventure....I really don't know how big the parks are......do i need to buy the 2 day pass or can I do both parks in 1 day? I make my kids hustle in the parks, we don't dilly dally....and does anyone know if there is a planning dvd i could request to be mailed to me...you know like the wdw has?

I know I can do sea world in one day....from the time i was there about 10 years ago.

Thanks

no planning dvd.

if you are going in april and spring break is happening, i doubt you could do both parks in a day.

you do have options though.

you could stay on site and receive free express line usage.
you could use the single line lanes for rides
you could buy the VIP park tickets with ex pass unlimited usage
you could buy the regular ex pass

or you could buy a 2 day 2 park pass for all and be at the park 45 minutes prior to the official opening time.

2 days for 2 parks is ALWAYS better than 1. 1 day is do-able if it is the only choice but not recommended. If you have the resources and its not that big of a deal either way, go for 2 days. We can and do spend a full week at Universal. Granted we do some things over and over, but like Disney, there are a LOT of nooks and crannies, and cool things to explore, much more enjoyable if you can take your time. If you are worried that you will get bored in using 2 days, don't be. I could live at Universal, its a great place.

we just returned from out first trip to US/IOA and we spent 5 days in the parks. did both parks on 2 of those days. now we did a lot repeat riding, but IMO that was the fun of it. they also have GREAT kid areas at both parks that my DD could have easily spent and entire day in :). i personally woudl go for 2 days, take my time some, catch all the shows (we missed a few) and take it all in :)

I absolutely agree with the others...you will need 2 days to do it all at both USF parks. I doubt you can even do all of Sea World in one day, now...since they have added coasters, rides and night time shows etc. Also, because the shows are at set times and you can't always make it to each show.

I go for 5 days , stay on site, get on evry ride as many times as I want and enjoy the FOTL access...it is SO nice after the race around WDW:thumbsup2
