2 October 08 Wonder. Long way off but .....

Hello Everyone!
My family will be going on the 7 day land and sea.
We are staying at Port Orleans before the cruise. My DH, DS (16), DD(13) and my Mom and Dad will be traveling with me.
We were on the Wonder back in 2000 and we were on Magic in 2002
It has been a long time since we did a Disney vacation and we are very excited.

just wanted to say:welcome: see you are a newbie on this forum. lots of good stuff on here

Welcome aboard Policycobb and Disneylyn ... :woohoo:

I believe my whole family (13 of us) are all dressing up for Pirates Night but not sure on exact costumes yet .

Our cruise is in the middle of our holiday and as the MNSSHP dates have been pencilled in, we're planning on doing that too! :cool1: I've just had my costume delivered but I can't figure out how to put a picture on here of it. Any help? :confused3

Thanks bats. I am trying to get my family to agree to dress up too! I think it would be fun. I have already ordered my DD a costume. We are also going to the MNSSHP.

Bats, we are planning on Tuesday, Sept 30 for the MNSSHP. You are going all out on your costumes!

Imadisneynut are you registering your children for the Oceaneers Club? My 3 yr old isn't completely potty trained yet. The rate she is going I am not sure she will be ready.

I've read somewhere else on this forum that not only do they have to be potty trained, but able to go to the toilet themselves, undress, clean (you know what I mean!) and dress again. Not sure how close your DD is to that.

If its any help, my sister trained her 3 children by using a noisy cooking timer. She set it for 15 mins, gave her children loads to drink and when the timer went off, pretended it was the all exciting time to use the potty. They'd have to go of course as she'd plied them with gallons of liquid. She then set the timer again, making it a few minutes longer each time and repeated the whole process for days on end.

Apparently it worked after about 1 week!! I have no children so have not had this problem thankfully. Best of luck :cheer2:

ya my son is the same way. he has not interest in going on the potty. I keep telling him he can't go on the mickey boat if he does pee on the potty. :rotfl2: . the only way he will go is if I bribe him with candy :rotfl2: . My daughter took me 1 day to potty train her. my son on the other hand forget about it. I haven't thought about it .have to talk about it with my wife. I will let you know

we are also going to MNSSHP on Tue 30 Sep

Watch out for our costumes!! We will be galloping down Main Street trying to blend in! ;)

I hadn't planned on costumes for the MNSSHP except for my DD. Maybe we will wear our pirates costumes.

My DD has relatives in Oxford, CT and Colchester, CT.

It's always strange to see British placenames with a state name after them! Our Colchester is Britains oldest town which has Roman forts (I think) and lots of Roman roads and archifacts (sp?). It's also a massive garrison town (Army) so there's alot of bad feeling amongst the local young men and the soldiers ... we don't have the same respect for our soldiers as you guys do .. mores the pity! :confused3

My step daughter and her partner live in Oxford, UK .. full of students and bikes apparently.

Glad to hear you may be dressing up.... we'll all look silly! :cool1:

Looks like we may have to postpone. We really would prefer a room toward the middle of the ship and they are filling up quickly...and I just found out my car needs new brakes AND 4 new tires so we can't make the deposit next month. Have a great time guys!!

No !!!! :headache:
Can you not ditch the car? :rolleyes1

It's only 23 weeks today that we sail so perhaps you could win the lottery between now and then? Keep on this thread and let us know if you are able to join us.

:guilty:

Hello eveyone, I just booked the Oct 2 cruise for me and my mom. After the cruise we will stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge Villa for 2 nights, then Old Key West for another 2 nights, hopfully to attend one of the Mickey's Holloween Party as well.

Welcome welcome welcome. We're all on the countdown now!

We (13 of us) fly into Orlando in 180 days, spend a week doing the parks, then 3 nights cruising, then back to the parks for another 4 days. Action packed 2 weeks!! :thumbsup2

Me and my partner took his family on cruise/WDW last month and we had a great time. And since my mom is coming to visit from Hong Kong, I got the perfect excuse to go cruising again. I am thinking about flying down the dy before and stay somewhere near the port. If anyone find any good deal please share with me! Thanks!
