We are going to the POly for 2 nights, and have been trying on getting a nice meal in each night. Would we be crazy to eat at Kona both nights? Ohanas is booked both nights we are there. I think our only other option is Grand FLoridan Cafe or something at the MK. Maybe Tony's?? We have a reservation at Chef Mickeys, but the timing makes us nervous, plus we dont know how good the food is. We really only wanted to do 1 charcater meal, and our last day we are doing breakfast at ohanas.

Although I love Kona, I don't think I'd want it two nights in a row.

The GF Cafe is a nice restaurant with good food.

Your post doesn't indicate when you are going but would the new restaurant at the CR be an option? The menus posted for The Wave seem interesting.

I would not eat there both nights but I would do one breakfast and one dinner

Have you eaten there before?

If you like the food, then why not. I don't see a problem with eating a the same restaurant multiple times during a trip if you really like it.

We are going in the middle of June, and the Wave will not be open yet. Maybe we will consider the GFC.

I have gone to Ohanas several times without reservations.........i know your taking a chance but each time its worked out for me, the longest i have had to wait was 30 min....they dont say they take walk-ins but sometimes they do, and its worth it, we love ohanas!
Good Luck!

I'd suggest one night at Kona and the other night at Grand Floridian Cafe. I think GFC is very underrated (and so is Kona). Both have excellent food and the prices are fairly similar. We'll be hitting both restaurants on our next trip.

We just showed up:eek: at O'Hana's the night before Thanksgiving and put our name on the wait list (party of 6). We probably waited 60-75 minutes, but kept ourselves occupied walking around, etc. It was worth it.

You could put your name in earlier than we did (we probably were put on the wait list around 6:30pm) and get an earlier seating time.

We loved it, of course. And we're holding out hope that they keep the Banana Bread Pudding on the menu until the end of July!!

I recommend going for The Grand Floridian Cafe for a different experience. I've been to both restaruants and enjoyed them both. Kona is quite loud and the server that we had there was not the best. I think you might enjoy taking the trip to the Grand Floridian and enjoying the lobby and grounds. When we had dinner there they had a live musical quartet in the balcony playing Disney music and it was so pleasant to just sit in the lobby for a bit and enjoy the music and atmosphere.
