I am going to buy 150 point to do an EOY. I have two questions I hope anyone can help me with:

1) Use year. let's say you have a March 2008 ann. date. Can you book for those point prior to March 2008 or do you have to wait till you get the point in your account first?

2) Do DVC members gets regular Disney hotel discounts?

If you have a March UY. Your '08 points can be used for any DVC reservation from March 1 2008 through February 28, 2009. You can book a reservation with these points at your home resort beginning on the first check out date in April 2007, that is 11 months out, and if you are going to another DVC resort you can book with those points 7 months ahead of time. The points are available for you to book with them!

The only room discounts that DVC member get are on DVC units, and these are not always available.

Keep in mind, if you're buying through Disney, the new minimum to buy points for new members is 160.

Resale contracts can be as small as 25 points; so, to answer your question, yes. You can purchase an existing contract of any size, and as long as it passes ROFR, you are officially a DVC member after closing!

Yes. All contracts are a minimum of 25 points, and you can buy any of them via resale and become a DVC member.
