I'm not sure I understand. The first choice is 7 nights standard view 1 bedroom, the second choice is 8 nights standard view 1 bedroom plus 1 night savannah view studio? The second choice will be more points. What are the dates you are looking for?

sorry
1st choice 1 week at 1 bedroom savana view
or
1 night studio savana view then move to 1 bedroom standard view for eight more nights.
so basically I can have a week of savana or 2 extra nights if I choose option two but I would only have a savana for one night.

A friend told me that she wouldn't stay at ak unless she had a savanna view so now I am wondering if I made the right choice.

I was thinking choice too as it is more days at wdw lol

Why not do a few more nights in a savannah studio, then move to the standard 1 bedroom. That way, you'll "get your fill" of the savannah viewing and then be moving to a bigger room. One night in a savannah room really isn't going to get you all of the possible views. The animals come and go. I know some have posted live trip reports and not seen anything but one type of animal for a few days.

Or--do it the other way--stay in a savannah view 1 bedroom for a while and then a standard studio. I wouldn't recommend one night savannah view no matter which size room you have.

How about a 1 bedroom or better yet studio value for whatever the weekend dates are. That way you should have more points for your savannah view.

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. Values are at Jambo and you even have a chance of savannah view. I've had 2 savannah views and 2 pool views in my 4 value stays. We mostly use "value" for weekend dates.

That's a tough one. How many people do you have? If you have 3 or more, I would stick with a 1 bedroom. With 2 people, you may want to consider some nights in a studio but I would not move for just 1 night. I stayed in a savannah view studio last month, it was awesome! But there was just 2 of us.

Don't do it for one night. Your room might not be ready until after 3pm and the animals are off the savanna in the morning, not back until 10-11am when you need to move.

There are plenty of viewing areas all over the buildings, you won't need a sv all week either. I'd go with the longer stay.

... or better yet, it sounds like a great time for an add-on

i would love to add on lol but this is our first dvc trip.

my thoughts on the studio for one night was start with that then move to one bedroom as we won't have unpacket yet. i have me dh and a 2 and 5 year old so moving mid trip sounds horrid lol.

I thought stay friday in a studio (only 5 points more for savana view) and move to one bed. I would like to stay two nights in the studio and it would allow me to save some points for the 1 bedroom savana view.

I thoght about values but didn't figure i would get one 7 months out.

i arrive friday and my race is very very early sunday am so I don't want to deal with a move on sunday.

I see hwat oyu are saying about one night in the savana view we won't see anything. Unless we cut back to 7 nights or get a value 1 bed we will have to start in one night studio to have enough points.

I plan to add on after this trip for next year but my dh is anti wdw and we went feb /09 first trip booked sept/09 for free dining then bought dvc so booked march 2010 my house won't be a happy place if I buy more points no:rotfl:

how much of a pain is it to move with two littleones.

The weekend points are killing me and there are two weekends in our stay.

I'd go more nights. We just got back from AKV-kidani stay last week, where we had a 1BR standard view. We overlooked the parking lot (which was still pretty, believe it or not). I didn't have enough points to stay in a savannah view room. In hindsight, savannah view would have been nice for us because we didn't go to any parks during our stay. We spent a little time in the rooms, and viewing the animals on the savannah from our a/c room would have been nice.

What we found at Kidani (if that's where you end up staying) is that the animals are not up and moving at 6 or 7am in the morning when I'm eating breakfast. They start moving them that early, but they're wayyyyy out by the fences and far end of the savannah. They rotate them throughout the day, so by 10am we were seeing the cranes and the steers. After lunch was zebrahs. Dinner time was giraffes. After dinner we saw the whildebeast (spelled that wrong, I'm sure!). We spent time there one day watching them feeding them and they purposely 'trail' their food around the savannah so they move to keep eating, and everyone gets to see the animals.

The viewing spots around Kidani are too many to count. Every spot in the hallway between the rooms has glass windows to see the savannah. There's viewing spots by the elevators on every floor. There's 2 lookout points off the lobby. We took so many pictures of the animals it was rediculous.

So, to sum it up, I say stretch your points. Stay at Kidani but realize you really don't HAVE TO have the savannah view. Get the best of both worlds.

I would go with the longer stay, sv is nice, but more time in WDW is nicer...

...as you can see from my ptr title in my sig. :)

I think I will do more nights...that is what my thoughts were too especially since we have the ap's this time.

Hubby said view but that is only because he wants to go for as least amount of nights as possible( I think he married the wrong gal:rotfl:)

I am glad to hear there are so many viewing areas.

thanks for all the replies make my decision an easy one.

Then take the longer trip, and take me instead of hubby. Problem solved.

perfect we are flying out of T.O. lol
