2 GACs ?

Ciara will be getting a wish trip later this year and I know they will provide her with a GAC. Should we get a separate one for Alize even though we plan to stay together? Karen

I would, just in case you might decide to split up. It will make sure your bases are covered. Chances are you won't need it, but if you do decide to do different things, you'll be glad you got it ahead of time.

Calvin and I are going to Disneyland next week. He will get his own GAC because he is hard of hearing and we both cannot do steps. It does not hurt to each get a GAC while you are there. If you loose one, one gets damaged or if each person has their own needs then you can use the second GAC.

You will get a GAC issued from GKTW for the wish child. You might want to call and ask GKTW if they can go ahead and issue one for Alize. Especially since they have her info since she was also there on a Wish Trip, right? That way you won't have to stop to get one for Alize.

It might be helpful to have 2, if you split up to do different rides. ?? But if you stay together, it won't matter, the button will override everything else.

I traveled with our family group of 17 in December and we needed 4 GAC's to get everyone's needs covered. This way when we split up they each had the GAC that fit their invisible needs.

For example my one family member is deaf and really is really good at lip reading and some signing. It helps for her to be in seats where she can read lips! It also helps get the reflective captioning screen without explaining it all to the CM's.

I have another member who can not see in the dark at all. We use an alternate entrance for this person when we encounter attractions with very dark cues like HM and Nemo in the Living Seas.

We have another member with basically vision in only one eye and he finds that sometimes he can enjoy the 3-D shows when he sits at certain angles to the screen. Disney has been great about accommodating his needs.

Then I have a member who has dementia and we usually need a separate place to wait for attractions. Her behavior can be great and then quickly escalate to violence. Again Disney has been wonderful about helping us.

I agree with the others.
Even though you don't plan to separate, you could easily need to because one child needs care or needs some down time when the other child is ready to go on something.

I'm not sure the Give Kids a World would be able to give you a GAC for Alize - even though that WISH trip was just a short time ago, they might have a policy against giving GACs for other than the child who is on THIS WISH trip. It certainly would not hurt to ask though and would save you some time in the park.

Twende, I have a son who is blind in one eye. I never knew that he might be able to do better in the 3D shows at certain angles. He just usually sits through and watches it all blurry. Can you please elaborate on this..I would so love for him to be able to see something better. Thanks so much.

I don't completely understand but future DSIL says that he can get the effects to show a bit for him when he sits in the middle of the theater and then looks out of the side of his eyes.

He has some, very little, peripheral vision in the eye that he where he is legally blind. When he looks straight ahead he sees nothing at all but sometimes he can get a bit of vision from the side. He says it is tiring to try to make it focus but that he can do it for shirt periods of time.

I doubt this would work for your son if he has no vision in the one eye at all.
