2 For The Price of 1: One Trip Done; One More to Plan!

Sorry I haven't put a TR up! I'm almost ready. My parents have to approve what I write. I'm almost finished with the first day! :)

Cammie - you just might have a DISmeet this month! I'm still not sure if we'll be there or not, but ya just never know! So glad I made the TR though! And like I said, you are welcome here anytime!!!! I think we'd have a blast together!

My advice - should try the Dole Whip once; but then go with the Root Beer float. It was sooooo good!

Thanks for the kind comments - I am a proud mom. (and yes, Lauren is growing at remarkable speed!)

Yay for DISmeets! I don't think I'll have any with this next trip though.:sad1:

And, btw - there's a rumor you're on FB. Is this true?

Yep, I've been on FB for about 3 years. Since I work at a University, my students are constantly on FB, so I use it as a source of communication with them. All of the sudden, I have tons of friends and family who have just discovered FB! It has been fun! Look me up and we'll be friends.

Alan

p.s. - DW is on FB also! If you find me, send her a friend request also! Hope we can meet up someday!

Hi Cammie! I'm finally all caught up. It's great Amanda's nurse came to help out! It's great you and Lauren got to have some wild fun! I was worried that Amanada got bored back at the resort, and here she was touring Epcot!:thumbsup2 I had my first Dole Whip in June at DL - I loved it! I guess I'll have to try the Root Beer Float too. I'm not always a root beer fan, but I love A&W.

It's so cool you got to have lunch with Kara! I'm jealous of both of you!::yes:: I can't wait to hear about your trip in 2 weeks! Did you make T-shirts this time?

Cammie, I don't know if it was up on this trip, but at Epcot, they now have this Team Possible Attraction.

You go to a Kim Possible Cart, stand, whatever, at one of the countries in World Showcase, and they give you a ticket saying, for example," Be at Norway At 2:15" assuming it was like 1:50. You go to the country on your ticket, and go to their Kim Possible cart. They will put you on a Mission for a certain country (you can ask for any country you'd like). You have a "Kimmunicator" and you have to help save the world from the evil Kim Possible missions. I did UK and Mexico. Lauren might wanna try one during your Feb. trip in 2 WEEKS!

You're a good kid for listening to your parents. I'm anxiously awaiting the start - let me know when you do.

I hope Lauren and I can meet up with you and Ally. And, now that I have it in writing, I definitely hope to someday come for a visit. We'd definitely would have a blast - Taco Night will never know what hit them!;)

Found you and found your wife!

If anyone else here reading is on FaceBook, let us know. There's a bunch of us over there.

No t-shirts this time. I've gotten lazy!:sad2: But we were certainly be wearing matching Disney shirts!:thumbsup2

I saw this back in November but they really weren't heavily publicizing it. Now I've read about it and it sounds so cool. I think Lauren and I definitely have to check it out when we're there next week.

Ok people, I seriously need to wrap this baby up! I've gone through my pix and for some reason I don't have many from our last night in Epcot. Think we were just frantically running around, trying to get stuff done, I didn't stop for pix. I do have some photopass pics that I will post after the next installment - which should be up shortly!

Ok guys, I'm going to admit, right off the bat, that's this is going to be a lame post. I just didn't take alot of pictures our last night. I guess I was just so thrilled to have some help with Amanda that we stayed focus on doing things and the camera never came out. Sorry.

Anyway, Lauren and I said goodbye to MK (until Feb., that is) and headed back to the Boardwalk.

Amanda had spent the first part of her day with her nurse. She slept in, had a bath and then headed over to Epcot. She got to ride Nemo and Imagination again. She also went into the Character Connection spot to meet some of her favorite characters. The nurse didn't have Amanda's autograph book with her, so Mickey - being the resourceful mouse he is - decided to autograph what was available -- Amanda's tray!

How cute is that? We will cherish it forever!:goodvibes

So we all met back at the room and took some time to relax and freshen up. We had dinner ADRs at LeCellier for 7:15 - one of our favorite restaurants in all of Disney!

We headed out to Epcot and took the path to the right: Grey Goose Slushie in France for me; Germany pretzel for Lauren. It's so pretty there at night:

After a stop in Mexico for the ride one last time, we were then on to Canada.

We were seated pretty quickly. The pretzel breadsticks and my appy of Cheddar Chees soup was delivered promptly. (sorry no pix). Next, on to the main course. We all ordered the petit Filet but with substitutions - I kept mine with mushroom risotto while Lauren asked for mashed potatoes instead.

Lauren's:

The steak was delicious as usual; I did not like the mushroom risotto though. I like mushrooms but this was mushroom overload! I would definitely substitute the mashies instead.

We decided to pass on dessert because we wanted to get outside and secure a viewing spot for Illuminations. We still had about 30-40 minutes to kill, so Lauren and I headed over to Test Track to cash in our fastpasses from the night before. We got two rides in pretty quickly:

We got back to Amanda right as the fireworks started. I've decided I really need to figure out the best setting on my camera to capture fireworks. I took about two shots, became frustrated and gave up!

After Illuminations, we took the long way around World Showcase to enjoy some of the xmas lights that were already up:

We left Epcot and went over to Beaches & Cream for a late dessert. I love walking around the BW area at night:

(sorry so blurry)

And, unfortunately, that's it guys! I apologize for becoming so negligent in my picture-taking responsibilities toward the end of our trip. I don't know what I was thinking. Anway, I'm trying to post photopass pix but photobucket will not let me do a "bulk upload" so I'll try again tomorrow.

In the meantime, Lauren and I have our special trip coming in ONE week from tomorrow. Please follow the link in my siggie to my pre-TR for that trip. I'll update it tomorrow with all the latest info. I will most likely also be doing a TR for that trip also; I know without having Amanda to worry about will free me up to take a crazy amount of photos - I promise!

Thanks for reading everyone! Like I said - will try again tomorrow for photopass pix.

You took great pictures of Illuminations.

What is with the people in the back.

I'm sorry our paths didn't cross again at WDW.
It sure was warm, which was nice.
On Sunday morning it was 45, but we drove down to the race in Homestead
and it was 78, which made a nice day for a Nascar Race.

Have a great trip, and I hope it warms up.
We are watching the Bud Shoot Out, in Daytona and they said it is still cold, but it should be warming up. 27 is pretty cold for Florida.

Hey Cammie,
I followed the link over from your TR.
I'm sure you won't have any problems with touring WDW,
but the parks may be a little busy.
The Nascar race is at Daytona Sunday.
I don't know how many people filter back
to WDW, but I imagine some do.

TigerKat & Podsnel:

Be sure to post the links to your trip reports either on this thread or in your signature! I know that Cammie's readers would like to read your reports as well.

Hope you ALL had a great time!

Alan

I finished my TR last week.
I'm glad I am done.
I print mine out and make a loose leaf book.
I hide it for now, but my kids will find it someday
when I am gone and hopefully get a good laugh over it.

Amanda's tray is so multifunctional: drink and snack holder AND Autograph book!! That is the coolest thing!!:cool1: :cool1:

I have loved your trip report and after reading some others today, I am going to applaud you on your writing skills. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear more about the trip with Lauren!!:goodvibes

Just finished your trip report and enjoyed it so very much! Your daughters, nieces and nephews are adorable!
I love Amandas tray. What a great idea and keepsake! (Handy too!) Thanks for the tip about dinner and illuminations. Are you able to see the illuminations fireworks from any of the other countries restaurants? Off to read your pre-trip report now! What an awesome 13th birthday celebration!
I will tell you that we have yet to visit our DVC homes (our first trip "home" is in May), but I now have addonitis for BWV, thank you very much...lol!

Hope you have a wonderful birthday celebration!! Can't wait for the trip report!
The only DVC resort Ive stayed in is SS for a few nights. We were in a one bedroom in Congress Park and could see the fireworks from the bedroom window. It is a beautiful resort and Artists Palette has some great sandwhiches and flatbreads! I have knee problems but could make the walk to the main building/pool area//community center in about 10 min or so walking with a three year old also. The busses ran often and we never had to stand up. The longest wait was about 12 min. We waited longer for a bus at beach club and the poly then we ever did at Saratoga.
Have a magical ad fun filled time!! Happy Birthday to Lauren!!

Hey Cammie!

I just read over your itinerary for the trip next week and it sounds like so much fun! What a great way to celebrate Lauren's birthday! Please make sure to tell her that I said Happy Birthday!!! If she doesn't remember me, tell her I am Andrew's (the cute boy) Mom;) !

I love how you pose for your TT pictures! My family does that too! :rotfl2:

On our last ride, we all pretended to check our watches. We're goobers. :rotfl:

That's so awesome that Mickey signed Amanda's tray! It's like a free souvenir!

Mmm, pretzel! :hyper:

My TR day one is finished, just have to add the pictures and post! :)

Only 6 more days! Does Lauren know about the trip yet?

Hi Cammie! Just checking in to say ONE WEEK!!! :cheer2:

You must be just about ready to go! Looks like it's warming up down there, too - you should have a great trip!:beach:

Hey Cammie,
I've finally caught up on your last TR and this pre-trippie. I hope you and Lauren have a fantastic time next week!!!! I'm sure you will. Your plan sounds great. I love the chocolate covered strawberry idea!

I have fantastic news.....

I just booked another trip for DH and I for 2/25-3/2. I know, we were just there a few weeks ago, but I love it. What can I say?

I haven't entered the realm of trip reports yet, so I'm going to hijack yours for a moment..... (hope you don't mind!)

DH and I got back from the World on 1/26. We bought APs this trip so we have park tickets for our September (free dining!) and January 2010 (half marathon!) trips. It just so happens, that our flight home on 1/26 was oversold. I of course had to give up our seats to let some poor family on..... ;) Delta gave DH and I both $400 vouchers for travel! :cool1: :cool1: So we decided to go in the spring for a quick trip. (I originally sold him on the idea of a weekend trip.... but the flights were better if we stayed for 5 nights... what was I supposed to do? :confused3 ) We used one of the travel vouchers for flights ($168 r/t from BOS - nonstop!!) and we'll have those APs for the parks. For the first time we will be staying off property. We didn't want too spend much, so we booked the Comfort Inn for $32/night including breakfast. I also rented us a car through Delta for $190. Our trip is only costing us around $400! Since we've always stayed on property (and I mean really stayed.... we've never left Disney property for even a meal. We take the ME straight there and straight back.) I'm pretty excited about checking out some of the local shopping and attractions. We'll also be able to save some money by eating dinner at one of the thousands of Orlando restaurants. Eeek!!! We're leaving in just over 2 weeks. Hurray!!!! I'm super excited!:cutie:

It's too bad our trips won't overlap. I can't wait to read about Lauren's birthday trip! Don't forget to try the Grand Marnier (sp?) slush in France (in addition to the Lemon, of course! ;) )Have a wonderful time and tell the Mouse I'll see him soon!!:thumbsup2

I hate that I found this PTR so late!! I hope you and Lauren have a great trip!!! I'm going to send pixie dust your way!!!

Sounds like you have great plans and I cant' wait to see how it all turns out for you!! Only a couple more weeks!!! YAY!!!

Thanks for reading! And better late than never!:goodvibes We're very excited - just five more days!

I'm preparing for crowds but I'm thinking it can't be any worse than when we were there in late June. Since it's just Lauren and I, it will be much easier to get up and out early; seems to me the parks get crazy-crowded afternoon.

And I had no idea I could print out my trip reports! What a great idea - I've got to do that!

Hope you have a wonderful birthday celebration!! Can't wait for the trip report!

Thanks you so much for the scoop on SSR. I think I'm going to request Congress Park - I'd like to have that view. And I"ll pass on your birthday wishes for Lauren. Thanks! I'll definitely be doing a TR for this trip also.

Oh - she remembers you Lauren! ;) Yep, you're known as the cute boy's mom! I'll be sure to pass on your birthday wishes. And I hope you're feeling well!

You must be just about ready to go! Looks like it's warming up down there, too - you should have a great trip!:beach:

5 MORE DAYS!!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for warmer weather! I don't care if it's not real warm; I just don't want to have to wear coats. I've never done that before in WDW - would just be too weird!

Hi Cammie! If this makes you feel any better, it's in the high 60's and low 70's all week here in GA-and it's always a little warmer at Disney! I don't know about swimming, but you shouldn't have to wear coats.
