2 Families Using DDP

Sorry if this has been asked, but I couldn't find anything. My family is going to Disney and using the DDP. I already booked our ADR's for 4, but now might have to switch to reservations for 6. My cousin and her husband recently booked a trip for the same week as us. How does Disney deduct dining credits when there are 2 or more families dining together? I want to make sure 4 credits are deducted from our family and 2 credits are deducted from my cousin and her husband. Thanks in advance!!
