Anyone happen to know if you can multiple credit cards linked to different room keys for the same room? IE we will have two families staying in the same 2br and am curious if each family can have their own credit card linked to their own room key?

Thanks!

Unfortunately not.

We have attempted this on several trips while traveling with our in-laws, but for some reason the system only has the capabilities of keeping one card on file.

When I was at Aulani they told me they could put one CC on DH's and my key cards and another CC on my friends.

When they sent the bill before checkout all charges had gone on my card.

Went to the front desk, they apologized and moved the charges my friend had charged from our CC to his (they had it on file, didn't seem to know why the computer had not attached the correct charges to the right card but we'd also had a bunch of key cards for a different reason - if you want the whole story its in the mini-TR in my sig). Took about 5 minutes, but next time I think we'll just use CCs for everyone who is not DH or I. Slightly less hassle.

We were able to have separate credit cards on two different KTTW cards. Just be sure to stop at the front desk after the first day and make sure the charges are being applied correctly.

That's interesting! I wonder if Aulani, has a different system.

It is possible to have it done. We've done it at both the Boardwalk and Aulani. Just be aware that not all of the CM's can do it correctly. Aulani worked without a problem but at the Boardwalk the charges still all went to one card instead of how they were supposedly set up.

I would definitely check to make sure it worked correctly at the end of the first day.

Completely possible. I just got back from staying in a AKL two bedroom savanna room villa with our friends. When we checked in, I walked up with my friend's husband and told the CM who needed to be on what credit card. At the end of your stay, you will receive two different itemized bills too.

Have fun!

Interesting, we have tried to separate like this 4 different trips and each time we were told NO. I wonder why the discrepancy?

It is interesting because we have done this twice once in '09 and once this past May with no trouble.

Maybe the CMs you are talking to are just poorly trained but it seems like unusual bad luck to run across that many CMs that do not know what they are doing.

What are you asking when you make the request?

It has been my Mom and husband who has joined us in a two bedroom. We've asked if we can have our credit card on our cards and them have their credit card on their cards. It very easily could be cm's who just don't want to take the time to do it???

Depends on who you are talking to, if you want to do it and the front desk CM tells you no, ask for the on duty manager. :thumbsup2

Probably the cm not wanting to take the time. But honestly, as long as they are attentive, it did not take that long. He read off each name and my friend's husband said whether it was his family and I said when it was my family member. Took less than five minutes to sort it all out. There was not a line behind us.

Does anyone know if they will do this for 3 different families in a grand villa. If I know they can for sure do this I will be more demanding (for lack of a better word!),

I can't imagine this would be a problem. The CM helping us on our last trip made it seem so painless. Seriously, less than five minutes. They already have everyone's name in their computer....all that needs to be done is assigning that name to a credit card.

There is a lot of talk of about 'perks' on these boards. And though this isn't considered a 'perk' this is the type of 'perk' I care about because it's about caring about my experience and easing the way for a smooth trip.

OKW checkin CMs keep offering this to us, since Dec '10 (our first stay). We don't take it, as none of us charge to the room.

We did it in January at OKW in a GV. Two families, and our friends had some children who were old enough to have their room key linked to their credit card, and some who were not.

The CM just went through each card for both families and we told them which credit card to link, or to not link some at all.

No problem at all.

We had major problems with it at BCV.

Don't do online check-in. The system isn't able to do it.

On our last trip we shared 2-bed villas at BLT and Kidani with DD and her partner. We were able to have our credit card on our KTTW and they had a different card on theirs. It didn't seem to be a problem at all. I did online check in and added our card then, they added theirs after we checked in. I guess it is one of these things that depends on the CM you get.
