2 Dd's, Rph And Newbie To Universal.need Your Help!

MY FAMILY AND I WILL BE MAKING OUR FIRST TRIP TO UNIVERSAL IN OCT. HAVE RES AT HRH, BUT ARE DEBATING ON SWITCHING TO RPH. WE HAVE 2 DAUGHTERS, AGES 8Y AND 10Y. I KNOW THE HRH IS VERY CLOSE TO UNIVERS STUDIO, AND RPH IS CLOSER TO IOA. WHAT ABOUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, AFTER ALL THE KILLER RIDES AND WALKING IN THE PARK. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WALK FROM UNIVERSAL TO RPH, AND FROM RPH TO IOA? ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!! WHERE WOULD YOU STAY WITH 2 GIRLS THIS AGE? THANKS!!!

From RPR I'd take the water taxi or, better, the bus to US and walk to IOA. Its a little farther away than HRH is to US but not too bad. I'd say HRH would be the best if they were 12 and 14 but they would like RPR's pool just as much.

At the beginning of the day we easily walk from either hotel to either park - I was surprised on my first stay how really close together everything is - especially after a week in WDW! At the end of the day we still walk back to HRH, but usually take the boat back to RPR (unless the lines are long) - even after a very long day we have no problems with either walk - and the pathways are really lovely. My youngest is almost 16 and LOVES the HRH - when I took my little nephew last month I saved some $$ and stayed at RPR - he loved it. If you have no preference yourself over the theming, and if you get RPR for less, I would stay there this trip and save HRH for when they're teens and beg to stay there !

I would say the walk to HRH (now that they closed the gate by the BeachClub) is just under 10 minutes - Margaritaville to RPR is just under 15 (for us).
