2 Days without park tickets WHAT TO DO???

Holy Cow! All of these sound awesome! Now we have to narrow it down to 2..ha ha. Thank you SO SO much!!

Who is the Warner Bros tour through?

The Warner Bros tour is at the Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank. We purchased our tickets online through the WB Studio Tour website. We did the "regular" studio tour which is 2-3 hours and includes both riding a tram and walking. (There is also a deluxe tour which looks to be 5 hours long and includes lunch.)

We had a rental car and drove to the studios - I think if you visit through a bus tour, you'd get your tickets through the bus tour company. I just checked, and it looks like StarLine tours has a 7 hour bus tour that includes the WB Studio Tour as well as 1 hour in Hollywood (and a 9 hour bus tour that gives you 2 more hours in Hollywood).

The idea of going on a tour of Warner Bros makes me think of Animaniacs.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I'd assumed that if we were going to do anything else in the LA/SoCal area, we'd need to pick up and stay at a different hotel. I hadn't even thought of tour options! Much prefer the idea of unpacking once, and letting someone else do the driving.

Thank you!!

We only took the bus tour to Universal- but not only did we save on driving in traffic (the driver knew a better route) and parking, but the bus parked right in front to let us off! Couldn't have been any closer, Saved us a lot of walking!

I know it's a little bit further than these other options, but the Ronald Reagan Library is about 90 minutes from Disneyland. The last summer we stopped here on the way home. I am not a big political guy, but I did find the library to be very interesting. Plus you get a chance to walk through the old Air Force 1.

Nixon Library is closer in Yorba Linda. Very Presidential and all.

Any suggestions on things to do on non-park days? We are traveling from the east coast in April and since you can only purchase 5 day tickets we will have 2 days without.

It will be my husband and I and my 2 girls (13 & 10). We won't have a car either. Last time we went I remember something about a red trolley tour?

Also the last time we went we never left the property, if we do leave is there anything to see or do in walking distance?

Any suggestions would be great!!
You may want to look into using ART ( anahim resort transportation) to get around. Also check out the DisUnplugged disneyland podcasts for their " day 6" shows..tons of ideas for what to do outside the parks!

If you are thinking of doing the Warner Brothers Studio tour, Travelzoo added a deal today for $49 for the tour rather than $62. We grabbed it as soon as we saw it. Can't wait for it! You can also check to see what shows are taping while you are there and request free tickets to be in the audience (Ellen, Big Bang Theory, etc.)

**Sorry, I just checked and it looks like the dates only go through the end of February and you are going in April.

The tickets for watching the shows taping are free and you can request them a month ahead of time though. I know Liv and Maddie and Girl Meets World were two that my kids wanted to see so it might be worth looking into.

You can get to Knott's Berry Farm directly on Anaheim Resort Transit (http://rideart.org). No need to rent a car. If you were adventurous, you could even take ART to the Anaheim Intermodal Center to hop an Amtrak Surfliner into L.A. Union Station, and from there take the Red Line to Universal Studios.

Do the kids have to be 8 to go to a tapping also? My youngest will be a few months shy of 8 and it says no one under 8 for the tours but they would love to watch Live and Maddie or even Big Bang!! I would love Ellen lol

We will have a few non Disney days too, is the Pacific Aquarium good? Also we are considering either driving to San Diego to see USS Midway or checking out Battleship IOWA any opinions on any of those??

I would look up some reviews before planning to go to a taping. Quite a few I read sounded like tickets are gone quickly and then you could spend the whole day waiting and it be filled and won't get to see anything. I'd hate to waste a day when there is so much to do in the area.

The Anaheim Garden Walk is close. Its just a shopping place but it is off property.

Where are you staying? If you are at one of the DLR Hotels, there is a ton to do like spending a day by the pool, movies at night, power walking in DCA, etc...

Would you be opposed to Ubering somewhere or renting a car for two days? There is an Alamo in DTD. If so your possibilities open up immensely.

If not then I would spend a day doing DTD maybe a movie and then a character meal at one of the hotels. We really like Storyteller's for breakfast at the GCH with Chip and Dale. Goofy's Kitchen at the DLH is fun for dinner.

Aquarium and Midway are also good places. Both are a bit off the path, but good if you are mobile.
Long Beach Downtown is decent on an evening and Midway is San Diego (Gaslamp District a must)
